Lead Design Engineer

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the design and development of structural vehicle systems including frame, swing arm, handlebar, side/main stands, footrests, and grab handles.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Simulation, Testing, Manufacturing, and Program Management to ensure optimal part performance.
• Create and manage Design Verification Plans (DVPs) in collaboration with simulation and testing teams.
• Interpret simulation and test results to iterate and improve design quality and structural performance.
• Develop DFMEAs aligned with DVPs to proactively identify and mitigate potential failure modes.
• Manage and update the Engineering BOM, design standards, and documentation of lessons learned.
• Identify and communicate design risks with proactive mitigation planning.

Core Competencies:

• CAD Proficiency: SolidWorks, CATIA, NX
• Design Approaches: DFMEA, DFA, DFM, DFS, DFR
• Engineering Knowledge: Structural interaction with integrated systems, materials application
• Tolerance & Fit: GD&T, stack-up and clearance analysis
• Product Development: Simulation/testing collaboration, knowledge documentation, BOM management
• Tools/Methodologies: DFSS (preferred), design standard documentation
