Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Senior Database Developer with 7–10 years ofhands-on experience in database development and architecture, along with 3–4 years of team leadership experience. The ideal candidate will have exceptional expertise in PostgreSQL and SQL, and a proven track record of leading database teams in high-performance environments.Candidates from top-tier universities or reputed product-based / high-growth organizations will be preferred.This role requires strong analytical skills, deep database knowledge, and the ability to manage large-scale data systems while ensuring performance, scalability, availability, and security.
Key Responsibilities
• Design, develop, and maintain robust PostgreSQL database solutions.
• Write, optimize, and maintain complex SQL queries, functions, and stored procedures.
• Design database schemas, indexing strategies, and scalable data models.
• Perform database performance tuning, query optimization, and capacity planning.
• Monitor server resource usage and optimize database systems accordingly.
• Ensure high availability, security, and reliability of database systems.
• Develop scripts and procedures for data migration and ETL processes.
• Troubleshoot database-related issues and provide timely resolutions.
• Collaborate with application developers to integrate database solutions effectively.
• Lead and mentor a team of database developers, ensuring best practices and quality delivery.
• Manage task allocation, code reviews, and team performance.
• Maintain proper documentation for database architecture and processes.
• Support and manage large-scale, high-volume data systems.
Required Skills & Qualifications
• 7 – 10 years of hands-on experience as a Database Developer.
• Minimum 3 – 4 years of experience in team leadership or mentoring roles.
• Strong proficiency in PostgreSQL (mandatory).
• Advanced expertise in SQL query writing and optimization.
• Strong experience in performance tuning and indexing strategies.
• Experience handling large datasets and high-transaction environments.
• Strong understanding of database security and backup/recovery strategies.
• Experience in database testing and deployment processes.
• Familiarity with NoSQL databases (e.g., Cassandra) is a plus.
• Proven experience working with or graduating from top-tier universities or reputed
organizations.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Strong communication, stakeholder management, and teamwork abilities.
• Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
Educational Qualification
-Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field from a reputed / top-tier institution
