Job Title: Lead Database Architect

Role Description

• Supporting the Domain Architect for Data Services, the Lead Database Architect will be responsible for ensuring the technology portfolio for database is well maintained, appropriate to the TDI target state architecture, has appropriate product roadmaps etc.
• The database architect will understand the technology marketplace, as well as understand the requirements of the application teams and consumers within TDI and make recommendations and provide support to product managers and designers who are building new GTI products.

Your key responsibilities

• Act as the deputy domain architect for the Database Design Authority.
• Ensure appropriate design documentation is correct and up to date.
• Maintain technology lifecycles in co-ordination with other technologies.
• Act as a database Subject Matter Expert on appropriate design councils.
• Review and consult on the effectiveness and compliance of Product Designs.
• Identify and control architecture debt.
• Develop and maintain appropriate architecture standards for database products.

Your skills and experience

• Minimum 5 years experience working in an enterprise database environment, as an Architect and / or an Engineer.
• Substantial experience with a relational database technology (Oracle / SQL Server / PostgreSQL etc.)
• Preferred experience with no SQL databases (MongoDB / Redis / BigQuery etc.)
• Experience working in a consultative capacity, supporting developers and architects in application development.
• Documentation as Code, Markdown, Git experience.
