Job Description

Lead, Data Analytics (Lead Power BI Developer):

  • Experience: 4–5 Years.
  • Type: Full-time.
  • Breadth of the Role – Global.
  • Stakeholder Complexity - Cross‑Functional Internal Stakeholders + External Service Providers.
  • Role Type – Technical.
  • Mode of Work: Hybrid (3 Days from office + 2 Days from Home).

Role Summary:

We are looking for a Lead – Data Analytics to manage BI/Data requests, deliver end‑to‑end analytics solutions, and build advanced Power BI dashboards. The role involves leading sprint activities, ensuring strong data governance, driving continuous improvements, and mentoring junior analysts while supporting strategic initiatives across the BI function.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and prioritize BI/Data requests, ensuring smooth, timely, and high‑quality delivery.
  • Translate business requirements into clear tasks, wireframes, and dashboard prototypes.
  • Build and optimize Power BI datasets, data models, and DAX measures using best practices with a strong UI/UX focus.
  • Develop, enhance, and performance‑tune dashboards for user-centric consumption.
  • Perform EDA to identify patterns and present actionable insights.
  • Manage sprint ceremonies (planning, grooming, tracking) and communicate project updates to stakeholders.
  • Support strategic initiatives and propose improvements to the BI request‑to‑delivery lifecycle.
  • Ensure strong data governance, including data quality checks, data dictionaries, and data lineage documentation.
  • Work closely with Data Engineers to maintain data accuracy, structure, and readiness.
  • Mentor junior analysts and contribute actively to the BI/Data community through best practices and reusable components.
  • Oversee DevOps‑aligned BI workflows, including Power BI deployment pipelines and CI/CD processes.

Required Skills:

  • Strong hands‑on experience with Power BI Desktop, Power BI Service, and complex datasets.
  • Deep knowledge of advanced data modelling (star schema, composite models, incremental refresh, optimization).
  • Expert‑level DAX, data transformation, and Power BI performance tuning.
  • Strong understanding of Power BI Security Models, workspace governance, and access management.
  • Mandatory intermediate SQL skills — joins, window functions, aggregation logic, query optimization basics.
  • Good understanding of Power BI Licensing (Free, Pro, PPU, Premium Capacity) and selecting the right model for projects.
  • PL‑300 certification (or equivalent proficiency).
  • Familiarity with Databricks Medallion Architecture (Bronze/Silver/Gold) for BI readiness.
  • Strong UI/UX skills including dashboard layout, wireframing, and prototype creation.
  • Good knowledge of statistics, trend analysis, and forecasting fundamentals.
  • Basic understanding of Machine Learning and GenAI concepts.
  • Good exposure to DevOps practices, Power BI Deployment Pipelines, and CI/CD workflows for BI assets.
  • Strong understanding of Data Governance, Data Quality, Data Dictionary creation, and Data Lineage documentation.
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management, leadership, problem‑solving, and critical‑thinking skills.
  • Ability to work independently and adapt quickly to evolving technologies.

Good to Have:

  • Experience with Python, Databricks, Azure Data Factory, Azure Analysis Services, and Power BI Datasets.
  • Domain exposure in Sourcing, Quality, Finance, Sales, or Operations.

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Analytics, Statistics, or a related field.
