Lead Data Analyst & Analytics Manager
The Mission: What will you create and do
We are looking for a Lead Data Analyst who acts as a strategic partner to our business units. This role is designed for a technical expert who is ready to step into functional ownership.
You will be responsible for the End-to-End lifecycle: from sitting with Product and Sales leaders to extract their core business challenges, to managing, souring and setting up a dedicated team that delivers the technical solutions. You aren't just managing data; you are building the organizational capability to turn data into a competitive advantage for SMS-Magic.
Key Responsibilities
- Business Partnership & Discovery: Act as the primary consultant for Product, Engineering, Sales, and Finance. You will lead the Requirement Gathering phase, translating high-level business goals into precise data roadmaps.
- Team Construction & Leadership: Own the growth of the analytics function. You will be responsible for hiring, onboarding, and mentoring a team of analysts and BI engineers to achieve business goals.
- Architectural Ownership: Design and maintain a scalable data warehouse architecture (Snowflake/Redshift) and optimize ETL/ELT pipelines (Airflow) to ensure high performance.
- Strategic Delivery: Deliver actionable insights to leadership. You will manage team sprints and commitments to ensure timely delivery of internal and customer-facing dashboards.
- Data Stewardship: Ensure data quality, reliability, and security across all platforms, upholding our rigorous ISO 27001:2013 standards.
Required Skills & Experience
- 8+ years of experience in Data Analytics, Engineering, or BI.
- 3+ years of Leadership experience, with a proven ability to mentor staff and manage stakeholder expectations.
- Hiring & Team Building: Demonstrated experience in identifying talent and setting up operational processes for a data team.
- Technical Mastery: Expert SQL, Python for automation, and experience with modern warehouses (Snowflake/Redshift) and orchestration tools (Airflow).
- BI Expertise: Hands-on experience with tools like Metabase, Looker, or Power BI for both internal and multi-tenant (customer-facing) environments.
- Communication: Exceptional ability to present complex data narratives to non-technical executive leadership.
Education & KPIs
Education: B.Tech / B.E. (Required); MBA or M.Tech (Preferred) to support the business-facing nature of the role.

- Time-to-hire and team ramp-up speed.
- Stakeholder satisfaction and requirement accuracy.
- Data pipeline uptime and query performance.
- Impact of insights on business KPIs (Churn reduction, Revenue growth, etc.)
