NMDPL: Navbharat Mega Developers Pvt. Ltd. (NMDPL) is a Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV) formed through a joint venture between the Government of Maharashtra and the Adani Group. It leads the Dharavi Redevelopment Project, aiming to transform one of Asia's largest informal settlements into a modern urban hub with sustainable housing, infrastructure, and economic opportunities.

Job Purpose: The Lead – Corporate Affairs is responsible for supporting government relations, corporate affairs, and regulatory compliance for redevelopment projects. This role involves engaging with government agencies such as BMC and the Collector's Office, assisting with tenant management, and ensuring smooth execution of approvals and permissions. The position also plays a key role in stakeholder management, crisis resolution, and strategic communication to facilitate project execution.

Responsibilities

Lead Corporate Affairs

Government, Railway & Regulatory Liaison

Coordinate with BMC, Collector's Office, Indian Railways, and other authorities to obtain necessary project approvals, including Commencement Certificates (CC) and other regulatory clearances.

Act as the primary liaison with Indian Railways, managing approvals across departments such as engineering, safety, and environment.

Navigate regulatory frameworks to ensure full compliance with applicable laws, policies, and railway-specific mandates.

Maintain up-to-date records of regulatory requirements and approvals.

Environmental & Land Use Permissions

Secure environmental clearances required for redevelopment projects, especially those involving railway land or infrastructure.

Ensure adherence to government-mandated environmental guidelines and sustainability standards.

Manage related documentation and coordinate with environmental regulatory bodies for smooth and compliant project execution.

Corporate Affairs & Internal Coordination

Facilitate effective communication between internal departments and external stakeholders to support corporate affairs objectives.

Provide real-time on-ground updates and strategic input to the Head – GoMH Matters.

Support cross-functional collaboration to streamline redevelopment efforts and approvals.

Land & Data Management

Collect and validate land-related data from government and railway sources to support project planning and decision-making.

Differentiate between legitimate and non-legitimate land claims to ensure fair allocation in redevelopment.

Collaborate with the PMO team to maintain accuracy and integrity of land and compliance data.

Tenant Management & Community Engagement

Support tenant survey execution in collaboration with the Tenant Management and Security teams.

Participate in branding, awareness, and community outreach programs to build trust and understanding among residents.

Assist in implementing skill development and socio-economic initiatives in partnership with HR and local authorities.

Stakeholder & Crisis Management

Build and maintain strong working relationships with key government officials, regulatory agencies, and railway stakeholders.

Address and resolve challenges in acquiring permissions, including bureaucratic delays and legal hurdles, by providing strategic, solution-oriented inputs.

Handle crisis situations involving land acquisition, regulatory bottlenecks, or stakeholder objections to minimize project disruptions.

Qualifications

Educational Qualification:

Bachelor's/Master's degree in Business Administration, Urban Planning, Public Policy, Law, or a related field.

Work Experience (Range Of Years)

10-15 Years

Preferred Industry

Experience in government relations, corporate affairs, or land redevelopment in the real estate sector.

Extensive knowledge of Mumbai's regulatory landscape, including BMC policies, land acquisition laws, and redevelopment processes.
