Inviting applications for the role of Lead Consultant, QA Automation Engineer - Data & ETL Testing
We are seeking a highly skilled QA Automation Engineer - Data & ETL Testing with 4-6 years of experience in building automated validation frameworks for data pipelines and data warehouse systems. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in data validation, ETL/ELT testing, and automation development to support both modern cloud data platforms and legacy data warehouse environments.
This role will support next-generation data stacks built on Snowflake, Fivetran, and dbt, while also validating and maintaining legacy systems such as Oracle Database Data Warehouse platforms.
Responsibilities
Automation Framework Development
.Design and develop automated data validation frameworks.
.Build reusable SQL and Python-based automation scripts for ETL validation.
.Integrate data validation scripts into CI/CD pipelines.
.Automate source-to-target reconciliation and regression testing.
.Implement automated data quality checks and anomaly detection.
Modern Data Stack Testing
.Automate validation of data ingestion pipelines using Fivetran.
.Validate dbt models (tests, transformations, incremental loads).
.Develop automated checks for Snowflake data warehouse objects.
.Support automated validation during migration from Oracle DW to Snowflake.
.Monitor data pipeline health and automated test reporting.
Legacy Data Warehouse Testing
.Automate validation of Oracle DW data transformations.
.Test PL/SQL-based ETL logic and stored procedures.
.Perform cross-platform data comparison between legacy and modern systems.
.Support regression testing and release validation cycles.
Data Quality & Governance
.Implement automated data quality rules (completeness, accuracy, consistency).
.Validate business rules and transformation logic.
.Ensure compliance with enterprise data governance standards.
Collaboration & Reporting
.Work closely with Data Engineers, Architects, and DevOps teams.
.Participate in Agile ceremonies and release planning.
.Document automation frameworks and test artifacts.
.Provide detailed test execution and defect reports.
Qualifications we seek in you!
Minimum Qualifications
.4-6 years of experience in QA Automation with strong focus on Data/ETL testing.
.Strong SQL skills (complex queries, window functions, performance validation).
.Strong experience with Python for automation.
.Hands-on experience testing and validating:
.Snowflake data warehouse
.Oracle Data Warehouse
.ETL/ELT pipelines
.Experience validating data pipelines built using Fivetran.
.Experience testing dbt models and transformations.
.Strong understanding of
.Data warehousing concepts (Star Schema, Snowflake Schema)
.Dimensional modeling
.Source-to-target mapping
.Experience integrating automation with CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, etc.).
.Familiarity with UNIX/Linux commands.

Preferred Qualifications/ Skills
Experience with orchestration tools (Airflow or similar).
.Knowledge of data profiling tools.
.Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP).
.Experience with test automation frameworks (PyTest, Robot Framework, etc.).
.Experience in large-scale data migration programs.
.Strong analytical and debugging skills
