Oracle OCI Consultant
Location: Hyderabad/Bangaluru

Role Summary
The Oracle Retail Administrator is responsible for the installation, configuration, administration, monitoring, and support of Oracle Retail applications and their underlying infrastructure. This role ensures high availability, performance, security, and operational stability of Oracle Retail systems across environments (DEV, TEST, UAT, PROD).
Key Responsibilities
OCI Admin in retail domain role or Retail Admin in OCI Model
Oracle Retail Application Administration
- Install, configure, and maintain Oracle Retail applications including (but not limited to):
- RMS (Retail Merchandising System)
- ReSA (Retail Sales Audit)
- RPM (Retail Pricing)
- RPAS / AI Foundation
- MFCS, MFP, RDF, ORDS (as applicable)
- Perform environment setup, cloning, and refresh activities across DEV, TEST, and PROD.
- Apply patches, hot fixes, and version upgrades as per Oracle recommendations.
- Coordinate with Oracle Support for SRs, patches, and upgrade activities.
Infrastructure & Middleware Management
- Administer WebLogic Server, Oracle HTTP Server, and related middleware components.
- Manage Oracle databases supporting Retail applications (in coordination with DBAs):
- Monitoring database health, tablespaces, and connectivity
- Configure and manage batch jobs using Retail Batch Scheduler (RIB / POM / ESS, as applicable).
- Ensure application connectivity with upstream and downstream systems.
Cloud & OCI (If Applicable)
- Manage Oracle Retail deployments on Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI).
- Handle compute, storage, networking, load balancers, and security configurations.
- Monitor cloud resources for performance, availability, and cost optimization.
- Support DR setup, backup, and restore strategies in OCI.
Monitoring, Performance & Availability
- Proactively monitor application health and batch processing.
- Troubleshoot performance issues, memory leaks, stuck threads, and batch failures.
- Troubleshoot issues and providing RCA to customer . Handling L2/L3 issues .
- Ensure SLAs are met for availability and critical business processes.
- Implement and maintain HA/DR solutions.
Security & Compliance
- Manage users, roles, and access control for Oracle Retail applications.
- Apply security patches and ensure compliance with organizational security standards.
- Support audits and vulnerability remediation activities.
Operational Support
- Provide L3/L2 support for Oracle Retail environments.
- Analyze logs, diagnose root causes, and implement permanent fixes.
- Prepare and maintain SOPs, run books, and technical documentation.
- Support business users during monthend, quarterend, and yearend processing.
Required Skills & Qualifications
Technical Skills
- Strong experience in Oracle Retail administration
- Handson expertise with:
- Oracle WebLogic Server
- Linux/Unix operating systems
- Oracle Database (administration basics)
- Knowledge of Retail batch cycles and integration architecture
- Shell scripting for automation and operational tasks
- Understanding of RIB / messaging and integration concepts
- Strong hands-on experience with Docker and Kubernetes on
- Oracle Cloud Infrastructure
- Experience managing Kubernetes clusters using OCI OKE
- Container image build, versioning, and deployment using OCIR
- Knowledge of OCI Load Balancers, VCN, and security for containerized apps
Cloud & Tools (Preferred)
- Knowledge of monitoring tools and log analysis
- Familiarity with ITSM tools (ServiceNow, etc.)
Soft Skills
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills
- Ability to work independently and in crossfunctional teams
- Excellent communication and documentation skills
- Willingness to support critical business windows and oncall rotations
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent
