Simplify Group (The Most Group Inc.) is a high-growth healthcare technology organisation operating three entities: Simplify Healthcare — a leading healthcare payer SaaS platform serving large US health plans; SimplifyX™ — an AI-powered clinical automation and innovation product; and Simplify Alpha — a clinical intelligence and analytics platform. Major clients include UHG/Optum, Kaiser Permanente, BCBSNC, and HMSA. The Group runs entirely on Microsoft Azure with SOC 2 Type II, HITRUST, ISO 27001, and HIPAA certifications. In 2026 the Group is building a centralised Group Platform Engineering team — consolidating entity-siloed infrastructure ownership into a unified, expert cloud platform function.
About the Role
The Lead Cloud Platform Engineer is a senior individual contributor who serves as the primary cloud platform owner for an assigned entity (Simplify Healthcare, SimplifyX™, or Simplify Alpha). Reporting to the Manager — Platform Engineering IT, the role owns cloud infrastructure design, CI/CD pipelines, reliability engineering, cost governance, and security posture for their assigned environment. The role requires both deep technical execution and the ability to lead within a team — setting standards, mentoring junior engineers, and acting as the platform partner to development and product teams. The Lead Cloud Platform Engineer reduces delivery friction, removes back-and-forth between dev and infrastructure, and builds platforms that development teams are proud to deploy on.

Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or Engineering.
- Azure certifications required: AZ-104 (Azure Administrator Associate) as a minimum; AZ-305 (Solutions Architect Expert) strongly preferred.
- Kubernetes certification preferred: CKA (Certified Kubernetes Administrator) or CKAD.
- Terraform Associate certification is a strong differentiator.
- Security certification preferred: CompTIA Security+, AZ-500 (Azure Security Engineer) or equivalent.
- GCP Professional Cloud Architect or GCP Data Engineer preferred for the SimplifyX™ AI/Data track.
Required Skills
- 4–8 years in cloud platform engineering, DevOps, or cloud infrastructure — with at least 2 years in a senior or lead individual contributor capacity on Azure.
- Hands-on Azure expertise across: AKS, App Service, Azure SQL, APIM, Key Vault, Application Gateway, Service Bus, Azure Monitor, Defender for Cloud, Entra ID, Private Endpoints, and Container Apps.
- Proven Terraform experience: module design, workspace management, remote state, and pipeline integration.
- CI/CD pipeline design and ownership: Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions, multi-environment promotion, deployment strategy implementation, and gating.
- Production Kubernetes operations: cluster management, Helm chart authoring, node pool design, autoscaling, and upgrade management.
- Experience in a SaaS or multi-tenant cloud environment is strongly preferred.
- Exposure to healthcare compliance frameworks (HIPAA, SOC 2, HITRUST) is a significant advantage.
Preferred Skills
- Networking: VNet design, NSG rule management, Private Endpoints, DNS private zones, Application Gateway with WAF, Azure Firewall, and ExpressRoute/VPN awareness.
- Security: Managed Identities, RBAC design, Key Vault policies, Conditional Access, mTLS/certificate management, and Defender for Cloud remediation.
- Observability: Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, Application Insights, alert rule design, and dashboard creation. Datadog experience is a plus.
- Scripting and automation: PowerShell and Bash for platform automation; Python for tooling and IaC helpers.
- Cost governance: Azure Cost Management, tagging enforcement, rightsizing analysis, and reserved instance planning.
