Key Responsibilities
Cloud Strategy & Governance:
- Lead the implementation and evolution of cloud financial operations practices across the organization.
- Develop governance frameworks for budgeting, forecasting, and usage optimization.
- Own the cloud reporting strategy and act as a key liaison between technical and finance teams.
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- Partner with engineering, DevOps, finance, and procurement teams to drive accountability and strategic cloud investment.
- Align resource allocation with product priorities while supporting datainformed decisions.
- Support cost allocation and showback models for effective internal chargeback systems.
Cloud Spend Optimization & Analysis:
- Analyze multi-cloud billing data (AWS, Azure, GCP) to identify cost inefficiencies and optimization opportunities.
- Manage pricing levers such as Reserved Instances, Savings Plans, and Spot usage.
- Improve tagging and categorization to enhance visibility and tracking of cloud expenses.
Reporting, Tooling & Enablement:
- Design and maintain cloud operations dashboards and reporting for leadership and technical teams.
- Integrate and leverage cost management platforms (e.g., CloudHealth, Cloudability) for automation and insight delivery.
- Promote cloud cost visibility and enable engineering teams to monitor and optimize resource usage.
Customer Engagement & Reporting:
- Act as a customer-facing cloud operations expert during cloud usage and financial discussions.
- Engage with customer cloud teams to align on budgeting, forecasting, and optimization plans.
- Participate in reviews and reporting sessions, delivering usage insights and savings recommendations.
- Assist with pre-sales and onboarding to ensure scalable, cost-effective cloud architecture.
- Deliver tailored reports and insights for strategic customer accounts.
Skills and Experience
Experience & Technical Acumen:
- 6-10 years of experience in cloud operations, FinOps, cloud finance, or infrastructure management.
- Expertise in cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) with deep understanding of pricing and billing mechanisms.
- Experience with cloud cost management platforms, APIs, and automation workflows.
Analytical Strength & Business Partnership :
- Strong in Excel, SQL, and data visualization tools (Power BI, Looker, Tableau).
- Proven background in budgeting, forecasting, and modeling cloud spend.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills across technical and business stakeholders.
Preferred Skills
- FinOps Certified Practitioner or similar certification.
- Experience in high-growth SaaS or platform-based environments.
- Familiarity with Agile, DevOps, and CI/CD practices.
- Automotive tech domain knowledge is a plus.
