Job Purpose
Lead the design and development of chassis systems for 2W and 3W platforms, ensuring high design quality, optimal cost, and on-time delivery. Drive performance, integration, and vehicle dynamics excellence across suspension, steering, brakes, wheels, and wheel-end systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end chassis system design and integration, including packaging and DMU validation.
- Define and achieve vehicle dynamics and subsystem performance targets through benchmarking and engineering analysis.
- Perform design calculations for suspension, steering, braking, and wheel systems; drive robust 3D modelling and detailing (CATIA).
- Conduct tolerance stack-up, manufacturability, and feasibility studies to ensure quality and production readiness.
- Manage PLM data release, supplier drawings, BOM accuracy, and subsystem weight targets.
- Ensure delivery of design solutions aligned with cost, quality, and timeline commitments.
Required Skills
- Strong expertise in chassis systems: suspension, steering, brakes, wheels, and wheel-end assemblies.
- In-depth knowledge of vehicle dynamics and system-level performance engineering.
- Proficiency in CATIA for 3D modelling and detailing.
- Experience in design calculations, tolerance stack-up analysis, and packaging studies.
- Hands-on exposure to PLM systems, BOM management, and engineering data release.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and cross-functional coordination skills.
Required Profile
- Experience - 8-9 yrs with Bachelor's/Master's degree in Mechanical/Automobile Engineering
- Proven experience in 3-Wheeler (3W) chassis system design and development (mandatory).
- Experience working on full vehicle programs from concept to production.
- Ability to deliver within cost, quality, and timeline targets in a fast-paced automotive environment.
