Description
We are seeking a Lead - Buyer to join our team in India. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in procurement and will be responsible for developing and implementing purchasing strategies that drive efficiency and cost savings.
- Lead a team of 6 members who will liaise with the Central procurement team and ensure the materials availability
- Define and monitor inventory levels of raw material
- Risk estimation and implement mitigation actions for supply gaps if any with the Central procurement team
- Prepare weekly MSA for risk part codes
- Monitor and initiate necessary actions to maintain healthy inventory and control blocked & Excess stocks.
- Follow up with logistics and warehouse teams for low DOS materials to pull in ETA and GR closure
- Ensure all the local materials/suppliers are kept at healthy DOS levels. Manage the local suppliers with the India local sourcing
- Evaluate supplier performance and drive improvements with sourcing team's support if needed.
- Closely working with Factory MC team and providing the materials ETAs on time
- Reconciliation of Purchase Orders, goods receipts and payment settlements and resolve the pending cases with accounting and finance team support.
- Ensure supplier invoices are posted and supplier is paid on time
- Collaborate with Material Flow and quality teams to handle Quality issues and initiate actions for disposal of NG materials with credit note or RTV process.
- Adopt business changes and drive continuous improvements by innovation
- Work on different IT tools like SAP, SRM, E Invoice etc.
Skills and Qualifications
- Should be a graduate, knowledge about supply chain is highly desirable
- Should have 7-8 years of experience in material management or similar function
- Should be from high volume manufacturing industry
- SAP experience in MM module is highly desirable
- Should have Good English oral & written communication
- Oral or Written knowledge of Chinese will be an additional advantage
- Need to have good problem solving skills
- Should be a good team player and able to work across different teams
