Ferguson is seeking a Full Stack Business Analyst to support the design, delivery, and optimization of integration and API-driven solutions across enterprise systems. This role serves as a critical bridge between business stakeholders and technical teams, ensuring that requirements are clearly defined, effectively translated, and successfully implemented across backend integrations and frontend experiences.
You will participate in all phases of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC), working closely with Product Owners, Software Engineers, QA, and Architecture teams. The ideal candidate combines strong business systems analysis capabilities with a solid understanding of APIs, integrations, and modern application architectures to help drive Ferguson's ongoing modernization efforts.
This role requires strong analytical thinking, effective communication, and the ability to operate in a fast-paced enterprise environment while managing multiple initiatives simultaneously.
Responsibilities:
- Facilitate the discovery, analysis, and documentation of business requirements, translating them into functional and technical specifications for integration and API solutions
- Partner with Product Owners, developers, and architects to translate complex business needs into scalable integration designs and API contracts
- Lead requirements workshops, stakeholder interviews, and process analysis to identify gaps and opportunities for improvement
- Develop and maintain user stories, acceptance criteria, process flows, and data mapping documentation for system integrations
- Analyze system interactions, data flows, and interface requirements across backend services and frontend applications
- Support the design and governance of REST/SOAP APIs and event-driven integrations in alignment with enterprise standards
- Collaborate with development teams during design, build, and testing to ensure requirements are accurately implemented
- Define and execute test scenarios and support UAT validation to ensure solutions meet business needs
- Evaluate the impact of proposed system and process changes across dependent systems and organizational workflows
- Drive continuous improvement of integration processes, SDLC practices, and documentation standards
- Assist in creating business cases, including cost/benefit analysis and ROI considerations
- Support production systems by troubleshooting issues, performing root cause analysis, and collaborating with engineering teams on resolution
- Produce and maintain detailed functional and system documentation for integrations, APIs, and workflows
- Provide training, demos, and knowledge transfer sessions to business and technical stakeholders
Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business, or equivalent experience
- 5+ years of experience as a Business Systems Analyst, preferably within integrations, APIs, or middleware environments
- Strong understanding of Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) methodologies and Agile delivery practices
- Experience working with enterprise integrations, including REST/SOAP APIs, data mapping, and interface design
- Familiarity with modern architecture patterns such as microservices and event-driven systems
- Ability to analyze complex systems and processes across multiple platforms and applications
- Experience supporting UAT, test case creation, and validation processes
- Strong communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with both business and technical stakeholders
- Experience in domains such as order management, supply chain, finance, or warehouse operations is a plus
- Familiarity with tools such as Jira, Confluence, and Visio preferred
Technical Skills (Required / Preferred):
Integration & APIs:
- REST and SOAP API concepts, API documentation and contract definition
- Data mapping, transformation, and interface specifications
- Understanding of middleware platforms and integration patterns
- Architecture & Data
- Knowledge of microservices and event-driven architecture (Azure Service Bus preferred)
- Familiarity with relational and NoSQL data concepts (e.g., MongoDB)
Frontend:
- React & Component Design: Strong understanding of React architecture and state management to map business requirements to UI components and collaborate with engineers.
- Modern JavaScript & TypeScript: Proficient in JS/TS syntax to read code, troubleshoot front-end workflows, and define precise API data contracts.
- Core Web Technologies (HTML5/CSS3): Solid foundation in HTML5 and CSS3 to bridge product requirements with presentation layers, supporting UI prototyping and accessibility standards.
- Frontend Performance: Knowledge of client-side performance metrics and rendering optimization to define functional non-functional requirements and isolate UX bottlenecks.
- Technical Specifications: Ability to translate complex frontend architectures into detailed functional designs, data-mapping sheets, and developer-ready user stories.
