Job Description

About Kinship

Kinship is an early-stage experiential space in Ahmedabad. We're designing community experiences and services that help bridge the generation gap.

The Role

This is a sales and partnerships role with real operational responsibility and it sits at the heart of everything we do commercially.

We are two founders who love building experiences and are strong on creative vision and execution. What we are looking for now is someone with strong business acumen who can own the commercial side, keeping things organised and moving, thinking in pipelines and follow-ups, and making sure the right conversations turn into real revenue and lasting relationships.

Please note: If you come from a manufacturing, B2B, FMCG, or sectors with no connection to people facing roles such as event management, curating experiences, travel or community experience design, then this role might not be a strong fit for you.

What You Will Do

Sales and Revenue

  • Own the full sales cycle: inbound inquiries, outbound outreach, follow-ups, and closings
  • Sell across B2C audiences, corporates, brands, CSR teams, and creative partners
  • Fill seats for events, workshops, retreats, and programs
  • Convert conversations into bookings, memberships, private experiences, and long-term relationships
  • Track leads, conversions, and revenue targets and keep that data clean and current

Partnerships

  • Identify and close partnerships with brands, agencies, hospitality players, and community organisations
  • Build a growing pipeline of collaborators including musicians, facilitators, speakers, artists, and community hosts
  • Bring partnership leads and market intelligence directly to the founding team
  • Stay genuinely plugged into Ahmedabad's events, hospitality, entertainment, and creative scene

Marketing Coordination

  • Work closely with our marketing agency to coordinate campaigns, manage ads, and make sure inbound leads are being captured and followed up properly
  • Track what marketing channels are bringing in the right audiences and flag what is working and what is not
  • Explore new sources of leads and audiences including communities, platforms, partners, and referrals, and bring ideas to the table
  • Make sure sales and marketing are moving together, not in separate directions

Event and Centre Operations

  • Own event execution from setup to wrap-up including vendor coordination, check-ins, AV, hospitality, and troubleshooting
  • Maintain the Kinship space so it is always ready and welcoming for events, meetings, and private bookings
  • Handle cost tracking, invoicing, vendor payments, and event-wise profitability

Systems, Follow-Through and Business Thinking

  • Maintain CRM, lead trackers, partner lists, collaborator databases, and event records
  • Build simple, practical trackers and workflows that help the team move faster and miss less
  • Flag what needs to happen next including follow-ups, conversations that have gone cold, and decisions that need to be made
  • Use AI tools to reduce manual overhead and keep things well organised
  • Share honest, clear read-outs with the founding team on what is working, what is not, and what should change

You Are Right for This If

  • You have 2 to 5 years of experience in sales, business development, events, hospitality, brand partnerships, media, entertainment, or community spaces
  • You have sold something including experiences, memberships, workshops, sponsorships, or private bookings and you are proud of the results
  • You have strong business acumen and naturally think in numbers, follow-ups, timelines, and next steps
  • You are comfortable owning a sales target and having honest, direct conversations about revenue
  • You can move between a pitch meeting and on-ground event coordination in the same day without losing your footing
  • You are fluent in Hindi and English; Gujarati is a strong advantage
  • A background in business, management, or an MBA is a strong plus as we genuinely value structured commercial thinking

Strong fit if you have:

  • Managed events or sales at a cafe, hotel, cultural venue, coworking space, club, or studio
  • Worked in experiential marketing, brand partnerships, community programming, or entertainment
  • Coordinated with marketing or creative teams on campaigns, lead generation, or audience building
  • Operated in an early-stage environment where you had to figure things out without a fixed playbook
  • An existing network in Ahmedabad across events, corporates, brands, hospitality, education, or the creative industry

This Role Is Not Right If

  • You are strong at running events but uncomfortable with sales, targets, or cold outreach
  • You need detailed instructions before you can take action
  • You are good at starting conversations but do not follow through after
  • You prefer either a purely strategic role or a heavily supervised junior role
  • You come from manufacturing, FMCG, or sectors with no connection to culture, experiences, or community

To Apply

Email [Confidential Information] with:

  • One event, partnership, or experience you led that you are proud of, what you did, what happened, and what you learned
  • Any portfolio, work samples, or relevant examples
  • 2 to 3 lines on why this role excites you
