What will you get to work on
As the Lead Backend Engineer at Osfin.ai, you will:
- Own high-level system design for scalable, reliable, and observable services while improving engineering quality through strong code reviews, architecture decisions, and operational best practices.
- Design and implement AI-powered development workflows, automate repetitive engineering tasks, and establish guardrails for responsible AI adoption across the team.
- Partner closely with stakeholders to influence product direction, propose technical solutions that improve business outcomes, and proactively monitor system and product metrics.
- Own service reliability goals, improve observability and incident response processes, lead post-mortems, and drive long-term operational improvements across systems.
- Mentor and guide engineers through feedback and coaching, lead onboarding and interview processes, and drive cross-team collaboration with clear technical communication.
What do we expect from you
- Hustle! We're young, lean, and in our early days
- 5–8 years of backend engineering with a track record of owning and operating production services independently — no hand-holding required.
- Production on-call experience — you've written post-mortems and fixed your own incidents.
- Design judgement already formed: walk into a problem, propose the right approach, and defend it independently.
- Strong in a backend stack spanning batch processing frameworks, relational databases, async messaging and distributed systems patterns.
- Demonstrated ability to mentor engineers and make a team measurably better.
