Simaero is a global provider of flight simulator training to airlines, training organizations, and commercial pilots. We are launching an ambitious AI-First strategy to create a seamless ecosystem for our users, connecting legacy aviation systems with modern mobile apps and intelligent agents.
Taking a significant step towards enhanced pilot training in India, Simaero India is establishing an 8-bay, EASA & DGCA India ATO approved Full Flight Simulator (FFS) facility. Expected to open soon, this comprehensive center boasts a convenient location just 15 minutes from New Delhi's IGI Airport. The facility will feature advanced simulators alongside a dedicated classroom with Computer-Based Training (CBT) for a thorough training experience.
As our Lead Backend & AI Engineer, you will be the architect of our digital logic. You will connect our core business systems (Simorg, HubSpot, Sage) and design the Model Context Protocol (MCP) servers that allow AI agents to understand and assist our operations. You will bridge the gap between complex aviation data and user-friendly mobile experiences.
Key Responsibilities:
AI & Logic Architecture (The Brain)
- Develop and maintain high-performance APIs using Python (FastAPI).
- Design and build MCP (Model Context Protocol) servers that define tools for AI agents, allowing them to safely query flight schedules, manuals, and contracts.
- Implement RAG (Retrieval Augmented Generation) workflows to allow AI to access and interpret unstructured data (PDF manuals, training docs).
API Integration & Data Engineering
- Build the middleware that connects our mobile/web apps to external APIs, specifically Simorg (Operations), HubSpot (CRM), Hinfact (LMS), and Sage 100 (Finance).
- Develop ETL pipelines to aggregate data from these disparate sources into a central Data Warehouse on AWS for analytics and BI.
- Design strict JSON Schemas to ensure data consistency and prevent AI hallucinations.
Security & Standardization
- Implement secure authentication flows using Microsoft Entra ID (OIDC), ensuring that AI agents and APIs respect strict user permission levels.
- Create clear, comprehensive OpenAPI/Swagger documentation for the Frontend and Mobile teams.
- Ensure high performance and caching strategies so that pilot schedules load instantly, even when backend systems are heavy.
Your Profile
- Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or relevant field.
- 7+ years of experience in Backend Development, with expert proficiency in Python.
- Strong understanding of AI/LLM concepts and experience with agentic frameworks (MCP, LangChain, or similar).
- Proven experience in API Integration, wrapping complex third-party APIs (REST/SOAP) into clean internal services.
- Solid Data Engineering skills; you know how to move and transform data (ETL) from legacy ERPs to modern warehouses.
- Experience with SQL databases and caching mechanisms (Redis).
- Fluency in English (spoken and written).
