Role Overview
We are seeking a highly experienced and technically proficient Lead Automation Engineer to spearhead enterprise-wide automation initiatives. The ideal candidate brings deep expertise in Microsoft Power Automate and a strong background across multiple workflow and RPA platforms. This role demands a forward-thinking professional who has hands-on experience building Agentic AI solutions and autonomous agent frameworks, enabling intelligent end-to-end process automation.
As a lead, you will be responsible for solution architecture, technical governance, team mentoring, and stakeholder engagement, driving measurable business outcomes through intelligent automation.
Experience Requirements
Total IT Experience
- 6 to 9 years of overall IT experience in automation, software development, or related technology domains.
Primary Skill – Microsoft Power Automate (Minimum 4 Years)
- Minimum 4 years of hands-on, production-grade experience with Microsoft Power Automate.
- Deep expertise in Cloud Flows, Desktop Flows (RPA), and Business Process Flows.
- Proficiency in building complex, multi-step automated workflows integrating Microsoft 365, SharePoint, Teams, Dynamics 365, and third-party applications via connectors and REST APIs.
- Experience with exception handling, approval workflows, adaptive card integrations, and scheduled automation.
- Knowledge of Power Automate licensing models, environment management, DLP policies, and CoE (Center of Excellence) toolkit.
- Hands-on with Power Automate Desktop for attended and unattended automation.
Additional Workflow & RPA Platform Experience
Candidates must have working experience with at least two of the following workflow and RPA platforms in addition to Power Automate:
- Pega BPM / Pega Robotic Process Automation
- Experience with Pega Platform for case management, decisioning, and automated process orchestration.
- Familiarity with Pega Workforce Intelligence and robotic automation capabilities.
- Appian BPM Platform
- Hands-on experience designing and deploying low-code process applications using Appian.
- Knowledge of Appian RPA, Records, and integration with enterprise systems.
- UiPath RPA Platform
- Proficiency with UiPath Studio, Orchestrator, and attended/unattended robot management.
- Experience with UiPath AI Center, Document Understanding, or Process Mining is a plus.
- Automation Anywhere
- Experience with Automation Anywhere 360 / A2019 cloud platform.
- Knowledge of Bot Insight, IQ Bot for intelligent document processing.
Agentic AI Knowledge & Experience
This role requires demonstrated experience in Agentic AI — designing, building, and deploying autonomous AI agents that can reason, plan, and execute multi-step tasks with minimal human intervention.
- Hands-on experience designing and developing AI agents using frameworks such as Microsoft Copilot Studio, Azure AI Agent Service, LangChain, AutoGen, CrewAI, or similar.
- Proficiency in building multi-agent orchestration pipelines where agents collaborate to accomplish complex workflows.
- Experience integrating LLMs (GPT-4o, Claude, Gemini, etc.) into automated workflows for intelligent decision-making, summarization, classification, and data extraction.
- Knowledge of tool-use, function calling, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), and memory patterns for agent design.
- Experience building Copilot agents or Power Virtual Agent flows within the Microsoft Power Platform ecosystem.
- Ability to evaluate and mitigate AI agent risks including hallucination, loop detection, and safe task termination.
- Familiarity with agent observability, logging, and monitoring for production deployments.
- Understanding of prompt engineering best practices for agentic task decomposition and chain-of-thought reasoning.
Roles & Responsibilities
Technical Leadership
- Lead the design and delivery of end-to-end automation solutions across Power Automate and other platforms.
- Define automation architecture, integration patterns, and technical standards for the team.
- Conduct solution design reviews, code reviews, and enforce quality gates.
Agentic AI Development
- Architect and build autonomous AI agents integrated into business processes.
- Collaborate with AI/ML teams to embed LLM capabilities into automation pipelines.
- Prototype, test, and productionize agentic workflows with appropriate human-in-the-loop checkpoints.
Delivery & Governance
- Oversee end-to-end delivery of automation projects from ideation to production rollout.
- Manage technical risks, dependencies, and escalations across projects.
- Define and maintain automation CoE standards, reusable components, and best-practice playbooks.
Stakeholder Management
- Work closely with business analysts, process owners, and IT stakeholders to identify and prioritize automation opportunities.
- Present technical solutions, roadmaps, and ROI metrics to senior leadership.
Mentoring & Team Development
- Mentor junior and mid-level automation engineers in technical and best-practice areas.
- Conduct knowledge-sharing sessions, workshops, and internal training on Power Automate and Agentic AI.
