Overview:

Position Summary:

This role supports the Energy team by delivering accurate reporting and building automation tools that make data easier to collect, analyze, and share. The Analyst works closely with internal teams and external partners to ensure energy data is reliable, timely, and supports commercial, regulatory, and operational decisions.

Key Responsibilities:

Digital Automation:

  • Design, build, maintain, and monitor automation tools
  • Collect data from multiple sources such as FTP, email, and systems
  • Clean, transform, and store data for reporting and analysis
  • Distribute reports and data to internal and external stakeholders
  • Create alerts to flag issues or exceptions
  • Liaise with Energy Market Operations, Transmission, Suppliers, and regulators to meet data transfer requirements

Reporting:

  • Develop and maintain reports that provide insights into energy usage, trends, and optimization opportunities
  • Work with energy and site teams to explain insights and support improvements in energy performance

Data Analysis:

  • Collect and prepare energy, market, metering, weather, and financial data
  • Perform basic analysis and prepare datasets to support senior analysts
  • Combine multiple data sources to identify trends and new insights
  • Key Challenges:

    • Coordinating data collation and interpretation from physical sources and engaging with site representatives to transform insights into practical solutions
    • Working across multiple platforms to maintain system uptime

    Key Requirements:

    Experience and Qualifications:

    Mandatory (Critical for the Role):

    • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Data, Computer Science, or a related field
    • Experience with reporting, automation, BI tools, or scripting
    • Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills

    Desirable (Preferred for the Role):

    • Experience working for an international company
    • Experience in the energy industry
    • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to understand data, identify patterns, and convert insights into improvements
    • Genuine interest in environmental sustainability and responsible business practices

    Skills Required:

    Technical / Business / Leadership Skills:

    • Experience developing and maintaining tools and reporting using Power Query, Power BI, VBA, JSON, and similar technologies
    • Experience working with files of different formats
    • Strong technical ability using Microsoft Excel and VBA
    • Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills
    • Innovative approach to problem-solving and solution development
    • Strong analytical skills with the ability to derive insights and recommendations from quantitative data
    • Ability to identify value and opportunities within energy-related operations
