This Senior Analyst Server & Storage Engineer role will be responsible for Architecting, Improving and managing the AWS Infrastructure and the Hybrid On-Prem server environment to support the business and services across the enterprise. Being part of the Global Server and Storage Team of the Enterprise Technology Wing, This role will be working closely with other Level 3 Technicians and the Global Support Operations team to ensure quality and efficiency in the support provided to the business and other technology teams Globally.

With a degree of change at Cond Nast, this role will need to ensure alignment with the enterprise's business strategy and the delivery of capabilities required to achieve business success.

The role will require strong communication skills that will support the development of standards and procedures to be used by all markets maintaining a high level of documentation and architectural diagrams.

This individual will have solid technical infrastructure experience focused on AWS, automation and Infrastructure as code technologies like Ansible or Terraform. The Resource will be needed as a strong team player in an international team spread across HQs, hub and market locations.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND REQUIREMENTS

  • Act as technical and Business domain subject-matter expert focussed on AWS Infrastructure to all systems supported globally by the Global Server and Storage team.
  • Architect, Improve and Manage the AWS Infrastructure(70%) and On-Prem Hybrid Infrastructure(30%) and keep all systems up to date and available.
  • Own and Run Cost Optimization of AWS Cloud across multiple regions and accounts and create plans for Reducing costs. Execute the plans by delegating activities to Colleagues and Junior Teams.
  • Conduct Performance Tuning Reviews for AWS Components like EC2, ELB, S3.
  • Create Ansible or Terraform Scripts for Automating AWS complex tasks in a multi region setup.
  • Review Security Modelling for AWS Services and Recommend improvements.
  • Develop strategies for AWS and on-Prem Backup strategies with cost in control.
  • Keep up to date and accurate Documentation like HLD, LLD, Network Diagrams for AWS Infrastructure and On-prem Systems.
  • Provide Technical Hands On Expertise for Enterprise Technology Platforms in Architecting, Planning, Designing, Executing Key Projects and Milestones for the Global Server and Storage Team.
  • Act as an L3 and L4 Escalation Point for the Operations Teams and other senior Analysts including out of hours for critical priority Technical issues.
  • Align IT activities to ITIL Framework, including representing changes at CAB, supporting Incident and Problem management.
  • Analyse and evaluate current IT systems and procedures to recommend solutions to assist in driving solutions to Global Support teams located in markets and Global Support Operations Centre.
  • Work with Security Operations on Risk assessment and build Mitigation plans to address security vulnerabilities in Cloud and On-Prem Systems.

ESSENTIAL SKILLS & REQUIREMENTS

  • Overall 10 to 14 years experience supporting AWS, Server and Storage environments with minimum 4 years of AWS Architecting Experience.
  • Expertise in working in AWS Infrastructure, EC2, S3, Storage Gateways, IAM, Cloudwatch and Datasync and other IaaS platforms.
  • Expertise in AWS Cloud Automation using Terraform or Ansible Scripts.
  • Experience in Cost Optimization Projects for AWS.
  • Expertise in Performance Tuning projects for AWS EC2 Instances.
  • Experience with automation tools such as Ansible and Terraform for Cloud Deployments.
  • Experience in Linux Operating system and services, Centos, RHEL or Ubuntu.
  • Experience in VMware or Nutanix with commendable hands-on experience.
  • Experience in Security Vulnerability Detection tools such as Rapid 7, Manage Engine, Ivanti and other Security tools would be desirable.
  • Strong Wintel Server Services Administration Experience with AD, DNS and File Servers.
  • Experience of Designing and Implementing Resilient and High Availability systems and applications using Windows Clustering, Load Balancing technology, AWS and on and local on premise hardware across a number of global locations.
  • Strong Understanding of Enterprise Networking ACL, Subnets, Gateways, DHCP etc.
  • Experience in Hardware across multiple vendors DELL, HP, Nutanix, NetApp, Nexsan in earlier roles will be desirable.
  • Strong Backup skills using technologies such as Veeam, AWS Backup, Volume Shadow copy, Snapshots, cloud, tape and archive systems.
  • Strong working knowledge of ITIL Incident, Problem and Change Management.

  • Preferable - Experience within the media/publishing industry. Or similar experience across digital landscape
  • Adaptable to work in a shift based environment and weekend on call if need be.
