Lead AI Engineer | Vantrock Intelligence | Mumbai
A senior hands-on builder for our core product. You will lead delivery of product modules, run our evaluation and quality process day to day, and mentor the engineers around you.
ABOUT VANTROCK INTELLIGENCE
Vantrock Intelligence is building an AI-native operating system for the real estate asset lifecycle, spanning capital raising, land acquisition, development and leasing. We are building it AI-first from the ground up, starting inside a live real estate development fund where we solve real problems, with the ambition of turning it into a product for real asset companies everywhere. We are a small, senior, fast-moving team, and we operate like the startup we are.
THE ROLE
You will be an early, senior member of our in-house engineering team, working within the technical direction set by our engineering leadership. You will build the core product hands-on, lead delivery of major features, and help the engineers around you grow. You will have real ownership from day one, and your growth is set by your performance, not your title.
WHAT YOU WILL OWN
– Delivery of our product modules end to end: design, build, test and ship, within the architecture and standards set by our engineering leadership.
– Our evaluation and quality process in daily practice: building and maintaining eval sets, testing and code review, so every release meets a secure, production-grade bar.
– Clear documentation of the technical decisions and logic you build, so the team's know-how stays in-house.
– The growth of our AI Engineer: mentoring them and prioritising their day-to-day work across the core product and internal tooling.
MUST-HAVE QUALIFICATIONS
– You have shipped AI-powered systems to production with real users, for example LLM pipelines, agents, RAG or eval-driven development. This is a builder role, not a research role.
– You have strong engineering fundamentals and make sound design, testing and security choices in the code you ship.
– You have mentored or led other engineers.
– You use AI tools every day as your default way of building, fast and to a high standard.
– You communicate clearly and work well with senior leadership and the wider team.
EXPERIENCE
Around 4 to 7 years of software engineering experience is typical for this seat, including meaningful hands-on production AI work. We weight shipped work over years. If you have done more, faster, we want to hear from you.
