About The Team

Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) is a Second Line of Defense role supporting various Enterprise level programs including Risk Reporting, Automation and Analytics. Areas covering the expertise and understanding of fragmented data environments, business processes to interpret and validate reporting results, ensure data integrity and accuracy across systems of records.

Impact

Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) Risk Reporting Automation and Analytics team support the Bank level data aggregation, validation and reporting.

Key Deliverables

  • Data Understanding and Validation: Strong ability to assess data accuracy, completeness, and consistency; spots anomalies or inconsistencies that may affect reporting quality.
  • Data Wrangling and Transformation: Advanced skills in cleansing, structuring, and integrating complex datasets from multiple systems and sources.
  • Business Context Awareness: Understands non-financial risk processes sufficiently to interpret what data should represent, identify discrepancies, and trace issues to their source.
  • Data Accuracy and Control: Skilled at building and maintaining checks, reconciliations, and control routines to ensure data reliability for downstream users.
  • Analytical Precision: Comfortable investigating ambiguous data scenarios and reconciling differences through systematic analysis.

Functional Skills

Skills and Qualification

  • Non-Financial Risk Reporting: Strong understanding of non-financial risk metrics and how they translate into data structures and reporting logic.
  • LFI Data Ecosystem: Experience navigating complex data landscapes within large financial institutions across multiple legacy systems, reconciling data definitions, and ensuring data flow consistency risk management functions.

Technical Skills

  • SQL: Expert in writing, optimizing, and debugging complex queries, joins, aggregations, and transformations across multiple relational databases and systems.
  • Python for Data Handling: Strong command of pandas, numpy, and related libraries for data manipulation, transformation, and validation.
  • Power BI: Proficient in data modeling, DAX, dashboard development, and visual storytelling to communicate analytical results clearly to stakeholders.
  • Data Management and ETL: Expert in sourcing, mapping, and transforming data within controlled pipelines; understanding of data lineage and governance requirements.
  • Validation: Skilled in performing data-accuracy checks through Python or SQL scripts on complex data sets

Soft Skills

  • Exceptionally detail-oriented, methodical, and persistent in resolving data issues.
  • Strong logical thinking and diagnostic skills to identify and address data anomalies.
  • Collaborates effectively with technical and non-technical partners and stakeholders on team projects.
  • Comfortable working independently in complex, ambiguous data environments.

A minimum of Bachelor's degree in computer science, Mathematics, Statistics, or a similar discipline. Master's Degree is preferred.

A seasoned Data Analyst with 6+ years of experience supporting non-financial risk reporting within US-based Large Financial Institutions (LFIs)
