Lead Administrator – Cohesity Backup – L1 (L3 / SME)-7-10 years-Mumbai

We are seeking a highly skilled Lead Administrator with strong expertise in Cohesity Backup & Recovery to manage and optimize enterprise data protection across hybrid environments. This role will act as an L3 SME, driving backup strategy, ensuring recoverability, enhancing security, and leading operational excellence across on-prem and cloud platforms.

Responsibilities –

1. Own L3 operations and engineering for Cohesity backup, restore, archival, and disaster recovery services.
2. Design, deploy, configure, and upgrade Cohesity clusters and integrations across hybrid environments.
3. Define and implement backup strategies aligned to RPO/RTO, compliance, and business needs.
4. Perform complex restores and lead disaster recovery drills and validation exercises.
5. Troubleshoot critical issues, conduct root cause analysis, and implement preventive measures.
6. Manage replication, cloud archival, and optimize cost and performance strategies.
7. Implement security controls including RBAC, MFA, encryption, and ransomware protection.
8. Plan lifecycle activities such as upgrades, patching, capacity planning, and expansions.
9. Automate operations using scripts/APIs and enhance monitoring and alerting systems.
10. Mentor L1/L2 teams, review changes, and ensure documentation and operational standards.

Requirements –

1. 7–10 years of experience in backup/storage/infrastructure operations with strong Cohesity expertise.
2. Hands-on experience with Cohesity DataProtect/Data Cloud, cluster management, and troubleshooting.
3. Experience with backup policies, replication, archival, and disaster recovery strategies.
4. Strong knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure) and hybrid infrastructure environments.
5. Proficiency in Linux and Windows Server administration.
6. Experience with automation (PowerShell/Python) and Cohesity APIs.
7. Understanding of enterprise backup concepts (RPO/RTO, retention, immutability, encryption).
8. Strong problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
