Laser Tracker Operator (Quality Engineer)

2. POSITION REQUIREMENTS
Qualifications & Experience
• BE or Diploma (or higher), in Mechanical engineering.
• Two to Six years of experience in the area of Metrology in a manufacturing
environment, carrying inspections using Laser Trackers.
• Experience in Metrology dept, standards room preferred
• Technology knowledge and experience of working on / operating precision
measuring equipment essential.
• Experienced in MS tools (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Project);
• Exposure to SAP will be added advantage
Knowledge & Competencies
• Knowledge of drawing reading and understanding and measuring GD & T
required
• Should have hands on experience in operation and doing inspections using Laser
Trackers like FARO, FARO Vantage E and Leica.
• Should have knowledge and experience in operation and programming using
software's like CAM2, Polyworks.
• Should be able to read understand drawings, set up Laser tracker, carry out the
inspection and validate the program
• Knowledge / Exposure to Calibration of Laser trackers preferred
• Flexible and willing to work in Matrix organisation structure.
Soft Skills
• Capable to work in team and independently too.
• Good oral and written communication skills, including the ability to write technical
reports.
• Prompt in planning, review & reporting
JOB TITLE: Laser Tracker Operator
3. POSITION FUNCTIONS
• Understand customer drawings, datum schemes, tolerances, and inspection
requirements.
• Ensure safe and accurate measurement processes.
• Coordinate with customer's on-site teams.
• Perform CAD-to-part inspection, dimensional measurement, GD&T checks,
alignment, and reverse engineering tasks.
• Conduct daily maintenance, pre-job functional checks, and consumable
management.
• Ensure equipment calibration certificates are valid and maintained.
• Reporting the activities to SQ Manager
