Responsibilities
- Review & guide team members for preparing/ensuring customer DFM (design for manufacturing) submission for assigned stage of Laser Process (Welding & Marking).
- Understands product design and assigns respective responsibilities to team members.
- Review & guide team members for execution of design and execution of the DOE (Design of experiment) basis customer requirement along with process and product teams.
- Unique Skill sets:
- Technical Leadership
- Lead laser process development and optimization for Laser Marking & Welding.
- Define and control laser process parameter, optimization, and qualification strategy.
- Lead root cause analysis and drive corrective actions (8D, FACA, Fishbone, etc.).
- CrossFunctional Collaboration
- Work closely with Design, Quality, Production, Supplier teams and Automation.
- Represent the process team in design reviews, build readiness meetings.
- Process Improvement & Innovation
- Drive projects to reduce cycle time, improve FPY and eliminate waste.
- Evaluate new technologies, automation solutions and process innovations.
- Implement errorproofing (PokaYoke) and standardization across lines.
- Documentation & Compliance
- Ensure all process documents are updated, controlled and auditready.
- Maintain compliance with safety standards, quality guidelines and regulatory requirements.
- ProblemSolving & Escalation Management
- Address daily production issues and implement sustainable fixes.
- Escalate critical risks with datadriven analysis and clear action plans.
- Support rapid response during build issues, line stoppages, or yield drops.
- Performance Reporting
- Track KPIs and present weekly/monthly process performance.
- Highlight risks, resource needs and improvement opportunities.
- Provide accurate engineering updates to management and stakeholders.
Reviews & Meeting
- Review shift updates from Team and report to Group Lead.
- Represent respective process function in NCMR meeting and provide solution for issues.
Yield Management
- Responsible to maintenance of CP (process capability) & CPK (process capability index) levels for assigned stage of Laser process.
- Ensures improvement of cosmetic yield performance and takes corrective actions (if required) for assigned stage of Laser process.
Root Cause and Failure Analysis
- Review & executing the root cause analysis DOE's.
- Execution of corrective and preventive action identified by the engineer and ensures its implementation.
- Immediate responsible for production/ Team members for assigned stage of Laser process.
Planning
- Machine Qualification
- Ensure the LBU (line bring up) status for assigned stage of Laser Process Planning.
- SOPs & Documentation
- Review & guide team members for preparing/ensuring submission of standard operating process and ensures that it is periodically updated for assigned stage of Laser Process.
- Review & guide team members for preparing/ensuring submission of process DFM for individual stations for assigned stage of Laser process.
- Coordinating team members
- Mentors and coaches team members on careers (technical and behavioral aspects of the job).
- Resolves conflicts and grievances (if any).
PFMEA (Process Failure Mode Effect Analysis)
- Conducts PFMEA as per defined processes.
- Finalizes the process after performing risk analysis and assessing effectiveness.
Minimum Education Qualification
Diploma/BE/B tech (Mechanical/Mechatronics/Electronics/Production)
Certifications
Six Sigma (Optional)
Minimum Experience (in Years)
Diploma :12 to 18 Years
BE/B Tech: 10 to 16 Years
Additional Technical Specifications/ Requirements
Laser - previous experience in laser welding required (preferred)
Dispensing - previous experience in dispensing required (preferred)
GD&T (geometric dimensioning and tolerancing) knowledge required (mandatory)
FMEA (Failure mode effect analysis) knowledge required (mandatory)
AutoCAD and NX knowledge required (preferred)
