Laravel Developer(1 to 4 years) - AI-Assisted Development Workflow

We are looking for Laravel developers who have strong programming fundamentals and are comfortable working on an existing enterprise Laravel codebase. The role is not just about writing fresh code from scratch. The candidate should be able to understand existing modules, trace API flows, debug issues, make controlled changes, and use AI-assisted development tools such as Cursor, Codex, Claude and ChatGPT to improve productivity.

This role is suitable for someone who understands Laravel basics well and is willing to work in a structured, disciplined development process using modern AI coding tools.

• Work on an existing Laravel-based enterprise application.
• Understand existing APIs, controllers, models, services, migrations and database structure.
• Debug issues across Laravel APIs, database queries and frontend/backend integration points.
• Build and modify REST APIs based on defined requirements.
• Work with MySQL queries, joins, indexes and performance-related improvements.
• Use Cursor, Codex, Claude and ChatGPT for code understanding, debugging, refactoring and development support.
• Review AI-generated suggestions carefully before implementation.
• Follow existing code conventions, folder structure and development practices.
• Coordinate with frontend/mobile developers for API requirements and issue resolution.
• Write clean, maintainable and testable code.
• Document API changes, logic changes and assumptions clearly.
• Use Git properly for branching, commits, pull requests and code review.
  

• Good understanding of PHP and Laravel fundamentals.
• Experience with Laravel controllers, models, middleware, routes, migrations and Eloquent ORM.
• Good understanding of REST API development.
• Working knowledge of MySQL.
• Ability to read and understand existing codebase.
• Basic debugging skills using logs, API testing tools and database inspection.
• Familiarity with Git.
• Ability to use AI coding tools productively without depending on them blindly.
• Clear written communication for explaining technical findings, blockers and changes.
  

The candidate should be able to use tools like:

• Cursor
• Codex
• Claude
• ChatGPT
• GitHub/GitLab code review workflows

However, the candidate must understand that AI tools are assistants, not replacements for technical judgment. The developer should be able to validate suggestions, understand generated code, identify wrong assumptions and avoid breaking existing functionality.

• Experience with Laravel 6/8 or older Laravel codebases.
• Experience working on enterprise applications, ERP, CMMS, asset management, workflow systems or SaaS platforms.
• Understanding of role-based access control, approval workflows, audit trails and multi-company/multi-tenant logic.
• Experience with Postman or similar API testing tools.
• Basic understanding of queue jobs, schedulers, cron, notifications and background processing.
• Ability to write basic technical notes for frontend/mobile teams.
  

We are not looking for someone who only knows how to generate code using AI. We are looking for someone who has Laravel fundamentals and can use AI tools to work faster, debug better and understand large codebases more efficiently.

1 to 4 years of Laravel/PHP development experience

Freshers may be considered only if they have strong fundamentals, practical project experience and good problem-solving ability.

Candidates may be asked to complete a practical task involving:

• Understanding an existing Laravel API flow.
• Identifying the files involved in a feature.
• Debugging a small issue.
• Explaining how they used AI tools and how they validated the output.
• Making a controlled code change without disturbing unrelated functionality.
