About the role:
We are seeking a motivated and technically skilled individual to join our team as a Laravel Backend Engineer. In this role, you will play a critical part in driving product development, ensuring smooth execution from concept to launch, and building impactful features for our users. Key Responsibilities:
- Product Development:Build and maintain core backend systems for user authentication, payments, and subscriptions using PHP and Laravel, ensuring scalability for a growing SaaS platform. Design and manage APIs to power frontend, mobile apps, and third-party integrations. Take end-to-end ownership of features, from development to deployment, in a fast-paced startup environment.
- Code Quality & Optimization: Write clean, efficient, and maintainable code to support a reliable SaaS product. Debug and optimize existing systems to enhance performance and handle scale. Streamline backend processes and database queries for efficiency in a resource-limited environment.
- Team Collaboration: Work closely with the small, cross-functional team (frontend, product, and operations) to deliver customer-focused solutions. Actively contribute to discussions around product features and technical approaches. Be hands-on in solving critical issues quickly to maintain customer satisfaction.
- System Maintenance & Innovation: Continuously monitor and maintain secure and stable backend systems. Identify opportunities to enhance system capabilities or improve processes. Experiment with and adopt new tools or technologies that can accelerate product innovation.
Required Qualifications:
- Experience: 3-4 years of backend development experience, preferably in a SaaS startup or small team environment. Proven track record of delivering impactful features in a lean setup.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in PHP and Laravel for backend development. Strong knowledge of MySQL for managing complex databases. Hands-on experience with building and managing APIs for scalable applications.
