Job Summary:
We are seeking skilled and experienced Language Interpreters fluent in English and second language to support U.S.-based customers. The ideal candidate will have prior exposure to international call center environments and hands-on experience in live interpretation.
The interpreter will provide real-time consecutive or simultaneous interpretation during customer calls, ensuring accurate, confidential, and culturally appropriate communication. This role demands professionalism, adaptability, and the ability to perform effectively in a fast-paced, high-volume support environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver real-time consecutive or simultaneous interpretation between English and the assigned second language during live customer calls.
- Facilitate clear and accurate communication between U.S. clients and non-English-speaking customers.
- Ensure complete accuracy by relaying information without omissions, additions, or alterations. Maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive customer information with the highest level of discretion.
- Preserve tone, intent, and cultural context while interpreting conversations.
- Adhere to defined call-handling metrics, quality standards, compliance guidelines, and client-specific protocols.
- Collaborate with Team Leads and Quality Assurance teams to improve interpretation quality and customer satisfaction.
- Stay updated on terminology, cultural nuances, and client process updates relevant to interpreting services.
Required Skills Qualifications:
- Fluency in spoken English and one additional language.
- 1–2 years of experience in an international call center environment, preferably supporting U.S. customers.
- Mandatory prior experience in language interpretation (telephonic or live).
- Strong listening, comprehension, memory retention, and note-taking skills.
- Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to remain calm and professional in high-pressure or sensitive situations.
- Understanding of cultural sensitivities and appropriate communication etiquette.
- Familiarity with interpreting platforms, CRM systems, and call center tools is an advantage.
Educational Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in any discipline.
- Language certification or formal training in interpretation is a plus.
Work Environment:
- Night shift to support PST (U.S. time zones).
- Work-from-office only.
- Use of headsets, interpretation software, and secure communication systems.
Preferred Candidate Profile:
- Experience supporting healthcare, insurance, finance, or government sectors through phone interpretation.
- Demonstrated ability to handle emotionally sensitive or confidential conversations.
- Flexible, adaptable, and responsive to client feedback and changing requirements.
