About the Role
We are looking for an experienced Laboratory Technical Manager with strong expertise in Solar PV Testing to manage laboratory operations, technical activities, testing procedures, equipment, and the technical team. Hands-on experience in Solar Testing is mandatory.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day laboratory technical operations and testing activities.
- Plan, execute, and supervise Solar PV / Solar Module testing.
- Ensure testing is performed as per applicable IS / IEC standards, SOPs, and customer requirements.
- Ensure compliance with key solar standards, including:
- IS 14286 – Crystalline silicon terrestrial photovoltaic (PV) modules
- IS/IEC 61730-1 – Photovoltaic (PV) module safety qualification – Part 1: Construction requirements
- IS/IEC 61730-2 – Photovoltaic (PV) module safety qualification – Part 2: Requirements for testing
- Review and validate test results, test reports, and technical documentation.
- Operate, monitor, troubleshoot, and maintain solar testing equipment and laboratory instruments.
- Ensure proper calibration and preventive maintenance of testing equipment.
- Lead, guide, and train laboratory engineers and technicians.
- Identify and resolve technical issues related to testing and equipment.
- Coordinate with customers regarding technical requirements, testing procedures, and project-related queries.
- Support internal/external audits and ensure compliance with laboratory quality standards.
- Maintain technical records, SOPs, calibration records, and equipment documentation.
- Identify opportunities to improve testing accuracy, laboratory efficiency, and turnaround time.
Mandatory Requirements
- B.Tech / M.Tech in Engineering or a relevant technical discipline.
- 4–8 years of relevant experience in laboratory testing, inspection, calibration, or technical services.
- Mandatory hands-on experience in Solar / Solar PV Testing.
- Strong working knowledge of IS 14286, IS/IEC 61730-1 & IS/IEC 61730-2.
- Good understanding of Solar PV modules, safety testing, performance testing, testing equipment, and applicable standards.
- Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Experience in handling and managing a technical/laboratory team will be preferred.
