Role Description The Laboratory Chemist is a full-time, on-site role based in Kota, responsible for supporting the chemical analysis and quality assurance needs of the project. Day-to-day tasks include conducting laboratory tests on soil, water, and plant samples, preparing reagents and solutions, and operating and maintaining laboratory equipment. The role involves monitoring and documenting chemical parameters relevant to plant growth, environmental impact, and system performance, ensuring compliance with internal standards and applicable regulations. The Laboratory Chemist will perform calibrations, maintain accurate records, contribute to quality control protocols, and collaborate with engineering and horticulture teams to optimize greenhouse and garden conditions. The position requires adherence to safety procedures and proactive participation in continuous improvement initiatives.
Qualifications

  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret test results and troubleshoot anomalies.
  • Proficiency in laboratory skills, including sample preparation, handling of chemicals, and safe lab practices.
  • Experience with laboratory equipment operation, routine maintenance, and instrument calibration.
  • Background in quality control, including implementing and following testing protocols and documentation standards.
  • Bachelor's degree in Chemistry or a closely related scientific discipline; advanced qualifications are an advantage.
  • Knowledge of environmental or agricultural chemistry, preferably in contexts related to sustainability or green technologies.
  • Attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams on-site.
  • Familiarity with basic data analysis tools and laboratory information management systems (LIMS) is beneficial.
