Laboratory Assistant

Position: Laboratory Assistant / Instructor - Chemistry, Chanakya University.

Qualification: M.Sc & BE/B.Tech

Summary The Lab Instructor supports the teaching and learning processes by assisting faculty in conducting laboratory sessions, maintaining equipment, and ensuring the smooth execution of practical classes.

Responsibilities:

• Assist faculty members in planning and conducting laboratory sessions for undergraduate engineering courses.
• Prepare laboratory setups, materials, and equipment prior to each practical session.
• Guide students in performing experiments and using instruments safely and effectively.
• Ensure proper maintenance, calibration, and storage of laboratory equipment and instruments.
• Maintain inventory of lab materials, consumables, and tools; initiate requests for replenishment as needed.
• Support in developing lab manuals, experiment documentation, and demonstration materials.
• Ensure adherence to all safety protocols and assist in implementing laboratory safety measures.
• Help in the installation and testing of new lab equipment.
• Maintain cleanliness, orderliness, and readiness of the laboratory at all times.
• Assist in departmental activities such as workshops, project demonstrations, and exhibitions.
• Report maintenance or safety issues promptly to the concerned faculty or department head.

Qualifications Required:

• M.Sc or B.E./B.Tech in a relevant discipline.
• Fresh graduates or candidates with up to 2 years of experience may apply.
• Basic understanding of laboratory procedures, tools, and instruments related to the assigned department.

Skills Required:

• Technical aptitude and interest in hands-on experimentation.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills to guide students effectively.
• Ability to handle instruments carefully and follow safety guidelines.
• Basic computer proficiency for lab record keeping and reporting.
• Willingness to learn and adapt to emerging technologies and laboratory practices.
