Job Description

MORARI COMMERCIAL PRIVATE LIMITED/ VERDE

Position : Lab In-charge — Quality Control

Department :Quality Control

Location : Salarpur Industrial Area, Bhiwadi, Rajasthan

Employment Type : Full-time · On-site

Reports To : Plant Manager

Experience :5+ years

Shift :General shift, with laboratory team on rotational shifts

ABOUT MCPL

Morari Commercial Private Limited (MCPL) / VERDE is a greenfield Fire-Refined High Conductivity (FRHC) Continuous Cast Rod (CCR) copper manufacturing facility being established at Bhiwadi, Rajasthan, with a planned annual capacity of 58,000 metric tons. The plant supplies copper rods to wire and cable manufacturers, transformer and busbar producers, and air-conditioning tube manufacturers.

ROLE SUMMARY

The Quality Control Laboratory decides what leaves this plant. FRHC rod is sold on tightly specified conductivity, oxygen content, and surface quality, and every coil is released against a test certificate carrying MCPL's name. This role owns that laboratory — its people, its instruments, its methods, and its records.

Because the facility is greenfield, the person in this seat will establish the laboratory rather than inherit it: setting sampling plans, calibration schedules, test methods, and documentation systems from the ground up, and building a technician team capable of running them across shifts.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

1.     Laboratory Operations — Manage day-to-day running of the Quality Control Laboratory across shifts, including manpower deployment, sampling schedules, test turnaround, and team training and supervision.

2.     Testing & Analysis — Ensure accurate testing of molten copper, copper rod, rolling emulsion, and the alcohol used on the reduction line, in line with applicable standards and customer specifications.

3.     Instrument Supervision — Supervise chemical, mechanical, and physical analysis on the optical emission spectrometer, LECO oxygen analyzer, universal testing machine, torsion tester, and conductivity equipment, alongside wet chemical methods.

4.     Product Conformance — Verify that rod meets the specified conductivity, oxygen, tensile, elongation, and twist requirements, and release material only against conforming results.

5.     Calibration & Method Validation — Maintain the calibration schedule for all instruments with traceability to accredited sources, and validate test methods, reference materials, and control standards.

6.     Documentation & Test Certificates — Maintain laboratory records, raw data, control charts, and retention samples; issue Material Test Certificates and ensure results are recorded in the ERP against the correct heat, batch, and coil.

7.     Root Cause Analysis & CAPA — Lead investigation of quality deviations and customer complaints, and drive corrective and preventive actions through to verified closure.

8.     Cross-functional Coordination — Work with Production, Quality Assurance, and Procurement to resolve material quality issues, verify incoming cathode and scrap, and support process correction in real time.

9.     Inventory & Consumables — Monitor stock of reagents, reference standards, spares, and consumables, raising indents early enough to avoid testing downtime.

10. Safety & Environmental Compliance — Enforce laboratory safety practices, chemical handling and storage norms, PPE discipline, and compliant disposal of laboratory waste.
