Maimsd Technology is seeking a highly skilled and proactive L2 Subject Matter Expert (SME) - OSS Support to join our team. This role requires extensive experience in multi-vendor Network Management Systems (NMS) administration within large-scale environments, strong troubleshooting capabilities, and a deep understanding of ITIL processes. The ideal candidate will be instrumental in ensuring the high availability and performance of critical OSS applications and network infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities:
NMS Administration & Support:
- Administer and troubleshoot various Multi-Vendor NMS systems, including (but not limited to) Nokia Netact, NFM-P&T, Alcatel 5620, 5620 SAM MD, CISCO IOT Service Manager, Ciena NCS/Site Manager, Fortinet FW Manager, Huawei-U2000, Samsung-USM/CMS, and Ericsson-ENM, in a large-scale environment.
- Perform Application Health Checks regularly to ensure high availability and optimal performance of OSS applications.
- Monitor and manage backups of the application for recovery purposes.
Incident & Problem Management:
- Actively troubleshoot and resolve complex infrastructure and application issues, owning problems from identification to resolution.
- Join bridges and actively lead troubleshooting efforts. Engage required vendors as needed to resolve issues promptly.
- Update incidents regularly with recent findings and resolutions.
Change & Configuration Management:
- Implement recommended Technical Support Notes provided by vendors (e.g., Nokia Care).
- Manage user roles, access controls, and ensure best practices for OSS security and operations.
Automation & Optimization:
- Utilize scripting (Python, Bash, PowerShell) for automation of routine tasks and operational efficiencies.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance observability and monitoring solutions for OSS.
Network & Cloud Technologies:
- Apply strong understanding of networking protocols, IoT technologies, and security concepts.
- Possess good knowledge of OpenShift, Kubernetes, Containers, VMWare, Storages, and Databases.
- Demonstrate key skills in Network Security, TCP/IP, Network Troubleshooting, Security Best Practices, and System Updates.
Collaboration & Communication:
- Actively involved in ORCA (Operational Readiness, Capability, and Acceptance) for new projects, with or without additional scope.
- Handle shift tasks, including Incident Management, OSS Monitoring, and Mail Acknowledgement.
- Possess excellent communication skills in English (written and verbal) to interact effectively with internal teams, vendors, and customers.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Experience: Minimum 5+ years of experience in Multi-Vendor NMS systems administration within a large-scale environment.
Technical Proficiency:
- Proficiency and certification in Linux administration and troubleshooting.
- Hands-on experience with scripting (Python, Bash, PowerShell) for automation.
- Strong understanding of networking protocols, TCP/IP, and network troubleshooting.
- Good knowledge of containerization technologies (OpenShift, Kubernetes, Containers), virtualization (VMWare), storage, and databases.
- ITIL Processes: Strong understanding of Incident Management, Change Management, and Problem Management processes.
- Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with meticulous attention to detail.
- Security: Solid understanding of network security best practices and security concepts.
- Certifications: Relevant industry certifications are often preferred (e.g., Linux certifications, network certifications).
- Communication: Excellent communication skills in English (written and verbal) are essential.
