Job Description:
We are looking for experienced L2 and L3 Application Support Engineers to support enterprise applications built on .NET, COBOL (AS400/Mainframe), Java, and C++ platforms. The ideal candidate will have strong application support experience within the Automobile industry, with the ability to handle production issues, escalations, and provide stable 24x7 support for business-critical systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide L2/L3 application support for enterprise applications across .NET, COBOL (AS400/Mainframe), Java, and C++ platforms
- Handle incident, problem, and escalation management, ensuring timely resolution
- Perform root cause analysis (RCA) for recurring issues and implement permanent fixes
- Monitor application performance, system health, and stability proactively
- Collaborate with L1 support, development, infrastructure, and business teams
- Execute and analyze SQL queries for troubleshooting and data validation
- Manage application configurations, deployments, patches, and upgrades
- Maintain detailed support documentation, runbooks, SOPs, and knowledge base articles
- Participate in 24x7 on-call support rotation for critical applications
- Ensure adherence to ITIL processes, including incident, problem, and change management
- For L3/Lead roles: mentor L1/L2 teams and drive support best practices
- Utilize scripting and automation to improve support efficiency (preferred)
Mandatory Skills & Experience:
- Automobile Industry experience (Must)
- Strong hands-on experience in Application Support & Maintenance
- Experience with COBOL (AS400/Mainframe) and/or .NET / Java / C++ applications
- Good understanding of object-oriented programming concepts
- Experience working with SQL databases
- Proven ability to handle production issues and escalations
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication skills (written & verbal)
- Ability to work independently and in a fast-paced team environment
Preferred Skills:
- Knowledge of ITIL framework and IT service management best practices
- Experience with DMS (Dealer Management Systems)
- Familiarity with automation and scripting tools
- Experience in large enterprise or technology-driven environments
