Job Description

THT Manual Soldering Technician

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform high-quality Through-Hole Technology (THT) manual soldering of electronic components according to IPC standards and customer specifications.
  • Read and interpret assembly drawings, schematics, BOMs, work instructions, and engineering documents.
  • Assemble, solder, and rework printed circuit boards (PCBs) with precision and attention to detail.
  • Inspect solder joints and completed assemblies to ensure compliance with quality requirements.
  • Identify and report soldering defects, component issues, and process deviations.
  • Perform component insertion, lead forming, trimming, and other manual assembly activities.
  • Use hand soldering tools, desoldering equipment, and inspection instruments safely and effectively.
  • Support functional testing, troubleshooting, and repair of electronic assemblies when required.
  • Maintain ESD (Electrostatic Discharge) control procedures and follow all safety regulations.
  • Ensure proper handling and storage of electronic components and materials.
  • Collaborate with production, quality, and engineering teams to meet production schedules and customer requirements.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product quality, productivity, and process efficiency.
  • Maintain accurate production records and complete assigned documentation.
  • Keep workstations clean, organized, and compliant with 5S manufacturing standards.
  • Support training and mentoring of new operators when required.
Preferred Skills & Experience
  • Minimum 1–3 years of experience in THT manual soldering and electronics assembly.
  • Knowledge of IPC-A-610 and J-STD-001 standards is an advantage.
  • Ability to recognize and correct soldering defects.
  • Familiarity with electronic components, PCB assembly processes, and manufacturing environments.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills.
  • Certification in soldering or electronics manufacturing is preferred.
