Job Description

Own the end-to-end product roadmap for UPI fraud prevention, risk control, and transaction security.

  • Design and implement real-time fraud detection systems, rule engines, velocity checks, and anomaly monitoring.
  • Analyze UPI transaction data to identify fraud patterns, emerging MO trends, mule accounts, and behavioral anomalies.
  • Work with data science to build or refine risk scoring models, fraud signals, and machine-learning based detection.
  • Drive root-cause analysis on fraud incidents and implement corrective product solutions to reduce fraud losses.
  • Ensure product compliance with NPCI guidelines, RBI instructions, UPI safety frameworks, and partner bank requirements.
  • Collaborate closely with engineering, operations, risk teams, and banks to deliver scalable fraud-control features.
  • Deliver PRDs/BRDs, dashboards, and performance insights for fraud KPIs such as Fraud Rate, Loss %, and False Positives.
  • Prioritize feature development based on fraud risk impact, user experience, and business goals.
  • Monitor post-launch impact of fraud-control features and iterate rapidly using data-driven insights.

Skills and Strong understanding of UPI systems, PSP/TPAP workflows, NPCI APIs, and digital payments architecture.

  • Experience in fraud prevention, AML, transaction monitoring, risk management, and financial crime systems.
  • Ability to analyze large transaction datasets using SQL, dashboards (Redash), and fraud-analytics tools.
  • Working knowledge of risk scoring models, rule engines, behavioral biometrics, device binding and velocity checks.
  • Ability to write clear PRDs, workflows, risk rules, and detailed product specifications.
  • Strong product sense with the ability to balance risk control, customer experience, and business impact.
  • Excellent problem-solving, stakeholder management, and decision-making skills in high-ambiguity environments.
  • Technical familiarity with APIs, data pipelines, microservices, and real-time event processing systems.
  • Strong communication skills with a detail-oriented, risk-first mindset and a bias for execution.

Experience & Educational 3-5 years experience for PM role & 5-8 years experience for SPM role

  • Experience in fast-paced startup environment.
  • B.Tech/ B.E / MCA from tier 1 / tier 2 institutes.
  • MBA optional.
