About the role
As the Business Development Manager, youll play a pivotal role in driving the growth of our Protective Coatings portfolio and expanding our business. You will manage key accounts, spearhead business development efforts , drive specifications and collaborate across departments to identify new opportunities, build long-lasting relationships and accelerate sales performance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage key accounts across our entire product portfolio, with a primary focus on Protective Coatings or Construction Chemicals
- Establish strategic partnerships with various customer departments, including R&D, purchase, marketing and operations, to drive business growth
- Understand the potential of key accounts and market share, analyzing positioning to identify opportunities for expansion
- Collaborate with Govt. departments & large contractor teams and internal technical teams to explore innovative opportunities and drive specifications & product adoption.
- Undertstanding of project sales and stakeholder management ( Facility Owner , Contractor , Fabricator / Applicator )
- Own the entire sales cycle, from prospecting to closing, establishing sales objectives and annual forecasts
- Oversee accounts receivables, ensuring timely payments and credit management
- Monitor market trends, customer activity and competitor behavior to provide actionable insights and strategic guidance
- Establish relationships across all customer locations, ensuring alignment and communication for business growth
- Drive the development and management of long-term customer relationships under the guidance of Regional Sales Leadership & Key Account Leadership
- Resolve customer complaints and ensure seamless communication with the Berger Protecton technical and commercial teams
- Track demand-supply dynamics, pricing trends, and market climate, sharing competitive intelligence with management
Who are we looking for
Education B.Tech/BE in Chemical Engineering (MBA preferred)
Experience
- At least 10 years of experience in key account management and business development, specifically in the chemicals, protective coatings , construction chemicals or B2B sectors
- Proven ability to manage large customer portfolios and develop new business opportunities
