Role Overview
The Key Account Manager – Regional Retail will drive revenue growth, account expansion, and retail excellence across large-format and regional retail chains in the Hyderabad and Chennai markets.
The role involves end-to-end ownership of account management, commercial negotiations, sales performance, and in-store execution to deliver business objectives.
Key Responsibilities
A. Sales & Revenue Management
- Achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual primary & secondary sales targets
- Drive SKU-wise growth and category expansion
- Execute Joint Business Plans (JBP) with key accounts
- Forecast demand and manage replenishment cycles
B. Key Account Management
Manage and grow business across regional and large-format retail partners
- Build strong relationships with category managers and regional buyers
- Lead commercial negotiations (margins, schemes, display rentals, promotions)
- Ensure new product listings and timely rollouts
- Track sell-out, inventory, and stock health
C. Retail Execution & Visibility
- Ensure adherence to VM guidelines and brand standards
- Drive in-store visibility (end-caps, display units, branding)
- Monitor promoter productivity and deployment
- Conduct regular store audits and market visits
D. Trade Marketing & Promotions
- Plan and execute seasonal campaigns and retail activations
- Evaluate ROI on trade spends and investments
- Coordinate with marketing for POSM and campaign execution
E. Reporting & Compliance
- Publish weekly/monthly MIS reports
- Own sales forecasting and pipeline planning
- Track competitor activity and pricing intelligence
- Ensure compliance with company policies and processes
Candidate Qualifications & Profile
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or related field
- MBA preferred (not mandatory)
Experience
- 4–8 years of experience in modern trade / key account management / retail sales
- Prior experience handling regional retail chains or large-format stores in South markets (Hyderabad/Chennai preferred)
- Experience in consumer electronics, FMCG, or lifestyle brands is highly preferred
