Position Summary
The Key Account Manager (KAM) is responsible for managing and growing relationships with strategic clients. This role involves full ownership of commercial relationships, P&L responsibility, contract management, and branch-level operations, while ensuring high customer satisfaction and long-term business growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Own and manage commercial relationships and P&L for assigned key account(s)
- Identify, develop, and close expansion and upselling opportunities within existing clients
- Proactively manage contract renewals and lead commercial negotiations
- Collaborate closely with customers, suppliers, and internal cross-functional teams
- Ensure accurate forecasting, demand planning, and inventory management for smooth contract execution
- Prepare and present Monthly MIS reports and KPI dashboards to clients
- Oversee and manage branch operations, including:
- Operations
- Purchasing
- Planning and execution
- Drive customer satisfaction while ensuring profitability and operational excellence
Required Competencies & Skills
- Minimum 12+ years of relevant experience in Field Sales / Key Account Management
- Prior P&L ownership preferred; strong understanding of:
- Business P&L concepts
- Commercial terms & conditions
- Incoterms
- Strong understanding of customer industries and decision-making personas
- Ability to conduct high-level product and solution discussions with senior executives
- Excellent customer-facing skills (written, verbal, and presentation)
- Highly self-motivated, proactive, and results-driven
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, evolving business environment
- Strong team player who shares best practices and supports team success
