Job Description

As a Key Account Manager, you will own a portfolio of mid-market enterprise clients and be fully responsible for their retention, satisfaction, and growth.

You will report directly to the CEO and work at the intersection of client relationships, insurer negotiations, and commercial growth. The best person for this role is someone who is deeply extroverted, commercially sharp, and never satisfied with just renewing an account at flat.

What You Will Do

• Own end-to-end retention for your portfolio: from claims data analysis and QBR preparation to insurer negotiation and final closure.

• Drive net revenue retention of 125 to 150% by identifying and closing cross-sale opportunities across GPA, GTL, Wellness, Non-EB and beyond.

• Run structured Quarterly Business Reviews with clients covering claims performance, utilization trends, endorsement TATs, and service metrics.

• Negotiate aggressively with insurers on pricing, using claims history, ICR data, and market benchmarks as leverage.

• Consult clients on their benefits strategy, not just renewing what they have but helping them build a better programme.

• Handle escalations with urgency and ownership, ensuring clients always feel they have a single point of accountability.

• Build and maintain strong relationships across your insurer network, both private and public sector.

What We Are Looking For

• Minimum 5 -10 years of experience in an insurance broking company in a KAM, Account Manager, or CX Manager role, directly responsible for renewal of accounts.

• At least 70% of your experience must be in employee benefits: GMC, GPA, GTL.

• Demonstrated NRR of 100% or above. You grow the accounts you own.

• Cross-sales is a hard requirement. You have sold additional products into existing accounts, not just renewed them.

• Deep knowledge of EB underwriting, insurer pricing logic, and how to negotiate beyond the first quote.

• Strong relationships with private and public sector insurers.

• Knowledge of non-EB products (cyber, D&O, asset insurance) is a bonus.

• Comfortable with travel across India, client-facing, and happy working in a high-ownership environment.

KPIs for This Role

• 95% logo retention across your portfolio.

• 125 to 150% net revenue retention year on year.

• Quarterly Business Reviews completed on time for all accounts.

• Escalation handling and resolution within defined SLAs.

• Active cross-sales and new product consulting for existing clients.
