Role Description The Junior Video Editor role at Homedot is a full-time, on-site position based in Kochi. The person in this role will edit video content for marketing campaigns, social media, product demos, and educational materials, ensuring alignment with brand guidelines and project objectives. Day-to-day responsibilities include assembling raw footage, trimming and sequencing clips, adding graphics and motion elements, and performing basic color grading to create polished videos. The Junior Video Editor will collaborate closely with the creative and marketing teams, follow briefs, incorporate feedback, and help adapt content for multiple platforms and formats. The role may also involve organizing media assets, maintaining project files, and contributing ideas to improve storytelling and visual communication.

Qualifications

  • Strong foundational skills in Video Production and Video Editing, with the ability to handle basic end-to-end editing workflows.
  • Capability in Video Color Grading to enhance visual consistency, mood, and overall quality of video content.
  • Experience or familiarity with Motion Graphics and Graphics to create engaging titles, lower thirds, overlays, and simple animations.
  • Proficiency with common editing and design tools (e.g., Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects, Photoshop, or equivalent software).
  • Attention to detail, strong visual storytelling sense, and the ability to follow creative direction and brand guidelines.
  • Good communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in an on-site team environment in Kochi.
  • Ability to manage time, handle multiple projects in a fast-paced setting.
  • Relevant coursework, certification, or a diploma/degree in film, media, design, or a related field is preferred; internship or project experience in video editing is an advantage.
