The Junior Truck Pusher assists in overseeing the transportation of drilling rigs and related equipment for onshore rig moves. This role supports the Senior Truck Pusher and ensures that transportation activities are conducted safely and efficiently. The Junior Truck Pusher works closely with drivers and logistics personnel to facilitate the smooth execution of rig moves.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Support and Coordination:
Assist the Senior Truck Pusher in planning and coordinating transportation activities for rig moves.
Communicate tasks and schedules to truck drivers and logistics staff, ensuring clarity and understanding of their roles.
Help organize and prepare equipment for transport, ensuring that all necessary materials are available and ready.
2. Safety and Compliance:
Ensure that all transportation activities comply with company safety protocols and industry regulations.
Conduct pre-trip safety inspections and report any issues to the Senior Truck Pusher.
Participate in safety meetings and briefings to maintain awareness of potential hazards and safe practices.
3. Operational Assistance:
Monitor the loading and unloading of equipment to ensure safe and secure transport.
Assist drivers in navigating routes and addressing logistical challenges.
Maintain accurate records of transportation activities, including logs, permits, and delivery documents.
4. Team Collaboration:
Work closely with drivers and logistics personnel to foster a cooperative and efficient team environment.
Support the training and development of new drivers by sharing knowledge and best practices.
Provide feedback to the Senior Truck Pusher on team performance and suggest improvements as needed.
5. Problem-Solving:
Assist in identifying and resolving logistical issues that arise during rig moves.
Help implement solutions to improve the efficiency and safety of transportation operations.
Participate in post-move evaluations to discuss challenges and successes with the team.
