Junior Test Engineer

Role: Junior Test Engineer

A Junior Test Engineer is expected to contribute to the verification, validation, and performance characterization of systems and subsystems within image-guided surgical navigation platforms. The role involves designing and executing test protocols, analyzing results, and ensuring that developed systems meet defined functional and clinical requirements. The candidate should be capable of understanding system-level specifications, identifying failure modes, and working closely with development engineers to close gaps between design intent and measured performance.

Responsibilities:

• Design and execution of test protocols for hardware and software systems in surgical navigation.
• Performance benchmarking and characterization of tracking, imaging, and computation components.
• Identification, documentation, and systematic reproduction of failure modes and edge cases.
• Contributing to verification and validation activities aligned with medical device development standards.
• Working closely with software and hardware engineers to triage issues and validate fixes.
• Maintaining detailed records of test procedures, results, and traceability documentation.
• Contributing to technical reports, test summaries, and regulatory documentation as required.

Requirements:

• Strong fundamentals in measurement, signal analysis, and experimental methodology.
• Hands-on experience or coursework in software testing, hardware-in-the-loop validation, or systems integration.
• Familiarity with Python or C++ for test automation and data analysis.
• Working knowledge of computer vision or tracking systems is a plus.
• Basic experience with Git and Linux development environments.
• Awareness of medical device standards such as IEC 62304 or ISO 13485 is an advantage but not required.

Minimum Qualifications: Final year or recent graduate in B.E./B.Tech or M.E./M.Tech in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Electronics & Communication Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Instrumentation, or a related field. 0-2 years of industry or research experience.
