Job Description

About the Department

Invest India is the National Investment Promotion and Facilitation Agency under the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT), Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Government of India. It hosts teams working with various government initiatives such as Make in India, Startup India, AGNii, and PMG.

Key Responsibilities

The role centres on driving foreign institutional investment into India through end-to-end investor engagement - covering deal documentation, investor outreach, database management, and pipeline tracking. This is a high-impact, execution-focused role requiring a candidate with a proactive, solutions-oriented mindset, and the ability to build scalable, automated workflows that enhance team efficiency and output quality.

  • Investor Outreach & Engagement: Identify and engage global institutional investors - including SWFs, PE/VC funds, family offices, and asset managers - across target geographies; gather insights and feedback on investment trends, mandates, and challenges.
  • Deal Documentation: Own end-to-end production of anonymised investment teasers, investment briefs, and deal materials for live transactions across sectors, maintaining institutional quality and confidentiality standards.
  • Database & Pipeline Management: Build and continuously enrich the I-Cube investor database using platforms such as PitchBook, Lusha, and Tracxn, ensuring a well-maintained, mail-ready pipeline for outreach campaigns.
  • Workflow Automation & Process Improvement: Design and execute bulk outreach and follow-up workflows; proactively identify operational inefficiencies and implement scalable, automated solutions to improve team output.
  • Stakeholder Coordination: Collaborate with internal teams, investment banking intermediaries, regulators, and industry stakeholders to facilitate investment processes; attend and document key meetings, summarising discussions and action points for senior stakeholders.
  • Events & Presentations: Support the team in preparing presentations, reports, and periodic investment updates; assist in organising events, webinars, and workshops aimed at promoting foreign investment in India.
  • Market Research & Analysis: Conduct research and analysis on investment opportunities across multiplle sectors in India; prepare briefing notes on FDI flows, investor mandates, and peer-country benchmarks for senior management and government stakeholders.

Qualifications

  • Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Prior exposure to investor relations, investment banking, financial research, or institutional outreach; experience at a government IPA, IB, or fund is a strong advantage.
  • Strong analytical skills with a solid understanding of financial concepts and investment strategies.
  • Strong written and verbal skills with the ability to produce polished, investor-facing materials independently and to tight deadlines.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word), PitchBook, Lusha, Tracxn, familiarity with financial analysis tools and experience with workflow automation tools.
  • High attention to detail; ability to manage multiple live workstreams simultaneously in a fast-paced, high-accountability environment.
