Junior Software Engineer - iOS

Job Purpose:

At Jet2 Travel Technologies (Jet2TT), the technology arm of one of the UK's leading airline and holiday providers, we are building high-quality digital experiences for millions of customers.

As a Junior Software Engineer (iOS), you will contribute to the development and enhancement of mobile applications that are critical customer-facing platforms. You will work closely with experienced engineers and cross-functional teams to design, develop, and maintain iOS applications while learning best practices in mobile development, coding standards, and Agile delivery.

This role is ideal for someone passionate about iOS development, eager to learn, and motivated to build scalable, user-friendly applications.

Responsibilities

• Assist in developing and maintaining iOS applications using Swift / SwiftUI
• Contribute to building new features and enhancing existing mobile applications
• Write clean, readable, and maintainable code under guidance from senior developers
• Participate in code reviews and learn industry best practices
• Work with REST APIs and handle JSON data for app integration
• Collaborate with designers, backend developers, and product teams
• Support testing, debugging, and performance optimization of applications
• Participate in Agile ceremonies (daily stand-ups, sprint planning, retrospectives)
• Stay updated with latest iOS trends and tools, and apply learnings

Technical Skills (Basic to Intermediate Expected)

·  Basic understanding of iOS development and Apple ecosystem

·  Familiarity with Swift (SwiftUI is a plus)

·  Understanding of REST APIs and JSON

·  Knowledge of mobile app architecture patterns (MVC/MVVM – basic level)

·  Exposure to Core Data or other local storage mechanisms (good to have)

·  Familiarity with Firebase or third-party SDKs (good to have)

·  Awareness of version control tools; Git

Good To Have

• Internship or academic project experience in iOS development
• Exposure to React Native or cross-platform frameworks
• Understanding of app deployment process on the Apple App Store
• Basic unit testing knowledge

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science / IT / Engineering (or equivalent)
