Job Description

We are looking for a motivated Software Engineer with hands-on experience in ArduPilot

firmware modification and onboard computer integration for UAV systems. The ideal candidate

should have a strong foundation in C++, Linux, and embedded systems, with an interest in

developing and integrating autonomous drone solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Modify, customise, and maintain ArduPilot firmware based on project requirements.
  • Develop and integrate new flight control features and mission capabilities.
  • Interface onboard computers (such as Raspberry Pi, Jetson, or similar platforms) with
  • ArduPilot using MAVLink and serial communication.
  • Develop software modules for payload control, telemetry, sensor integration, and autonomous missions.
  • Debug firmware and onboard computer applications using logs, telemetry, and diagnostic tools.
  • Work with GPS, IMU, cameras, LiDAR, and other UAV sensors.
  • Collaborate with hardware and software teams for system integration and testing.
  • Perform flight testing and analyze logs to improve system performance and reliability.
  • Maintain technical documentation and version control using Git.

Required Skills

  • Strong knowledge of C/C++ programming.
  • Hands-on experience with ArduPilot firmware modification.
  • Experience working with Onboard Computers (Raspberry Pi, NVIDIA Jetson, Orange Pi, etc.).
  • Good understanding of MAVLink communication protocol.
  • Experience with Linux and shell scripting.
  • Familiarity with Git version control.
  • Knowledge of serial communication interfaces (UART, USB, I2C, SPI).
  • Understanding of UAV architecture and autonomous flight systems.
  • Basic debugging and troubleshooting skills.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with ROS/ROS2.
  • Knowledge of DroneKit, MAVSDK, or similar UAV frameworks.
  • Experience integrating cameras, companion computers, and AI modules.
  • Familiarity with QGroundControl or Mission Planner.
  • Basic understanding of networking (TCP/UDP) and telemetry systems.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electronics, Electrical Engineering, Robotics,
  • Aerospace Engineering, or a related field.
  • Passion for UAVs, embedded systems, and autonomous technologies.
