This role is ideal for an early-career recruitment professional who enjoys candidate sourcing, resume screening, candidate outreach, interview coordination, and structured conversations with candidates. You will support active hiring pipelines, maintain clear recruitment updates, and help ensure candidates receive timely and professional communication throughout the hiring process.

Role Purpose / Summary

As a Junior Recruiter, you will support the recruitment process across multiple open roles by sourcing candidates, screening resumes, conducting initial outreach, coordinating interviews, and maintaining accurate recruitment trackers.

You will conduct initial candidate conversations using structured questions to understand basic role fit, interest, availability, communication ability, and suitability for the next stage. This role requires someone who is organized, curious, responsive, detail-oriented, and comfortable speaking with candidates in a professional manner.

The role carries clear accountability for maintaining candidate pipelines, keeping recruitment data updated, and supporting a smooth hiring process.

Key Responsibilities

  • Source candidates through job portals, databases, referrals, and proactive outreach.
  • Review resumes and shortlist candidates based on role requirements and screening criteria.
  • Conduct initial candidate outreach to check interest, availability, salary expectations, communication ability, and basic suitability.
  • Ask clear and structured questions during candidate conversations.
  • Share suitable candidate profiles with the hiring manager or relevant internal stakeholder.
  • Coordinate and schedule interviews between candidates and hiring teams.
  • Follow up with candidates before and after interviews to reduce delays and drop-offs.
  • Maintain accurate candidate records, recruitment trackers, interview status updates, and pipeline notes.
  • Provide timely and professional communication to candidates throughout the hiring process.
  • Support hiring managers with regular pipeline updates and interview coordination.
  • Manage multiple open roles while prioritizing urgent hiring needs.
  • Identify and escalate pipeline gaps, scheduling issues, candidate drop-off risks, or delays early.
  • Support consistent recruitment processes through organized documentation, follow-ups, and status tracking.

Objectives and KRAs

1. Talent Pipeline Development

Objective: Build and maintain a steady pipeline of relevant candidates for active openings through sourcing, outreach, referrals, and database searches.

KRA: Quality of Hire

Support better hiring outcomes by sourcing, screening, and shortlisting candidates who meet the basic role requirements, show genuine interest, and are suitable for the next stage of assessment.

2. Data-Driven Recruitment

Objective: Maintain accurate recruitment data, trackers, candidate status updates, and pipeline visibility so hiring progress can be reviewed clearly and delays can be identified early.

KRA: Time to Fill

Help reduce hiring delays by keeping sourcing, screening, interview coordination, follow-ups, and recruitment tracking moving quickly and reliably.

3. Candidate Experience and Engagement

Objective: Ensure candidates receive timely communication, clear updates, and professional follow-up throughout the hiring process.

KRA: Candidate Communication Quality

Maintain timely, clear, and professional communication with candidates at each stage of the hiring process to reduce confusion, delays, and avoidable candidate drop-off.

Skills / Experience / Attributes

  • 0–2 years of experience in recruitment, talent acquisition, HR, sourcing, or a related support role.
  • Comfortable with candidate sourcing through job portals, databases, referrals, and outreach.
  • Ability to screen resumes against role requirements and identify basic suitability.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to ask clear, structured questions during candidate conversations.
  • Good judgment when assessing candidate interest, availability, communication ability, and role fit.
  • Strong organization and follow-through across multiple open roles.
  • Attention to detail when maintaining trackers, candidate records, and status updates.
  • Confidence in coordinating with candidates, hiring managers, and internal stakeholders.
  • Ability to learn quickly and work in a fast-paced recruitment environment.
  • Professional, responsive, and candidate-focused approach.

Education / Preferred Background

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Psychology, Industrial / Organisational Psychology, or a related field preferred.
  • Academic background, coursework, or degree exposure in Psychology or Industrial / Organisational Psychology.
  • Any bachelor's degree with relevant recruitment, sourcing, HR, or talent acquisition exposure may also be considered.
