Program Overview:

WRI India's Food, Land and Water program aims to inform India's transition towards sustainable and resilient food and land use systems focusing on developing interdisciplinary nature-based solutions like landscape restoration, sustainable agriculture to mitigate climate impacts, enhance jobs and livelihoods and improve nutritional security. To catalyze systems change with a focus on circular food systems in India, we also focus on developing equitable strategies to reduce food loss and food waste and mitigate climate impacts. With broader systems change and food systems perspective, we work with diverse stakeholders like governments, businesses, civil society partners and farmer producer organizations to inform and develop land use strategies based on robust evidence and analysis to build the resilience of local communities to mitigate climate impacts, bridge capacity gaps, monitor progress, and inform a pathway to building a restoration economy for people, nature, and climate.

Job Highlight:

You will support the Food, Land and Water communications team in developing and executing digital communication strategies to strengthen program outreach and engagement across platforms. Key responsibilities include, but shall not be limited to, creating and managing content for social media channels, analyzing performance metrics, and contributing to overall brand visibility and audience growth, while ensuring consistency with the organization's voice and objectives. You will also be responsible for coordinating with internal teams, supporting digital campaigns, and contributing to online and offline outreach initiatives.

What you will do:

  • Create, curate, and manage high-quality, engaging content in various formats, including posts, reels, stories, short videos, and campaigns as appropriate for various digital platforms such as Instagram, LinkedIn, Twitter, and YouTube.
  • Develop content with inputs from the Food, Land and Water program for various social media platforms including but not limited to Twitter, LinkedIn, Facebook, YouTube, and Instagram.
  • Work closely with program teams to develop creatives, campaigns, and communication materials.
  • Monitor digital media trends, tools, and applications, and apply insights to improve engagement and reach.
  • Analyze performance metrics and generate regular reports to assess effectiveness and optimize campaigns.
  • Manage digital outreach calendars for the program and ensure timely and consistent publishing.
  • Support program comms outreach activities such as emailers and newsletters around key project events, launch of research papers, op-eds, articles, video products etc.
  • Ensure quality in content and timeliness in dissemination of social media content, emailers and newsletters.
  • Assist in planning and organizing organizational events, campaigns, and key engagements for both on-ground and virtual engagements.
  • Track, evaluate and report on metrics for various communication and engagement activities undertaken for the program, such as social media, internal web blogs and YouTube videos.
  • Support FLW comms team in internal communication and documentation of communication files/documents.

What you will need:

  • Bachelor's degree in communications, marketing, journalism, development studies, or a related field.
  • 2–3 years of experience in social media management, preferably within an NGO, development sector, or purpose-driven organization.
  • Demonstrated experience in managing social media platforms with a strong portfolio showcasing campaigns, storytelling, or impact-focused content. Experience in supporting digital campaigns, or awareness drives is a plus.
  • Ability to create basic visual and video content using tools such as Canva or similar platforms
  • Working knowledge of short-form video creation and editing (e.g., reels, shorts), including basic editing, transitions, and captioning.
  • Strong understanding of digital storytelling, especially simplifying complex information into impactful social media content for diverse audiences.
  • Familiarity with social media analytics tools (e.g., Meta Business Suite, Hootsuite, Google Analytics) and ability to translate insights into actionable improvements.
  • Excellent English writing, proofreading, and editing skills, along with a strong visual composition sense. Proficiency in other Indian languages such as Hindi and Marathi would be considered a plus.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to handle multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with program and communications teams.

Salary and Benefits: INR 8,30,000 to 9,40,000

Salary shall be commensurate with experience and skills. WRI offers a generous and comprehensive benefits package.

Duration: 1 year (extendable based on performance and project requirements)

Location: New Delhi, India
