Program Overview For Energy Program

WRI India's Energy Program focuses on facilitating India's transition to clean energy by enhancing energy access, promoting energy efficiency, and ensuring reliable energy for health, livelihoods, and education, particularly in rural areas. We collaborate with policymakers, national and state ministries, companies, utilities, regulators, finance, and development institutions to secure a clean energy future for everyone

Job Highlight

As Junior Program Associate, Battery360 you will be at the heart of the multi-stakeholder Battery360 Alliance (battery360.in), helping shape a national ecosystem for battery technologies and commercial adoption. You'll combine outreach, operational ownership, and research to grow and service a diverse membership base, run collaborative working groups, and produce high-impact knowledge products that inform policy and industry decisions. This role offers rapid learning in research, stakeholder engagement, and project delivery: ideal for an entrepreneurial graduate or early-career professional who wants hands-on experience in battery technology, electric mobility, and energy storage.

What Will You Do

  • Manage a steady pipeline of prospective partners for the Battery360 Alliance, lead outreach and onboarding activities, and nurture new members to ensure sustainable alliance expansion.
  • Lead dynamic working groups from idea to execution: craft sharp agendas, convene diverse experts, capture breakthrough insights, and engage stakeholders periodically to understand gaps in the market.
  • Contribute to policy briefs and technical notes to inform policy and market development in the battery ecosystem.
  • Prepare alliance communications (newsletters, website updates, event materials) and ensure clear, timely messaging to members and external audiences.
  • Maintain project plans, track deliverables, report on KPIs and coordinate with senior leadership to keep initiatives on schedule.
  • Plan and execute roundtables, conferences & partner activities.

What Will You Need

  • A completed degree in engineering, public policy, business administration, environmental science or a closely related field. Master's degree preferred.
  • Strong written research ability, high-quality report/case study drafting skills and confident oral presentation skills.
  • Experience interacting with corporate organizations, government agencies, utilities, power market operators.
  • Candidates with foundational understanding of battery technologies and energy storage markets, and the commercial / policy issues that affect deployment will be preferred.
  • Comfortable with MS Office (especially PowerPoint and Excel); familiarity with CRM/CMS tools and basic data analysis is a plus.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, strong attention to detail, and willingness to undertake some domestic travel.

Potential Salary and Benefits: INR 7,50,000 to INR 9,40,000 Per Annum

Salary shall be commensurate with experience and skills. WRI offers a generous and comprehensive benefits package.

Location: New Delhi, India

Duration: 1 year (Extendable based on performance and project requirements)
