Position Overview

We're hiring a Jr. Product Designer to own the day-to-day design work for some of out our direct-to-consumer e-commerce brands in the Group Bayport portfolio. You'll design screens, build components, improve user flows, and collaborate with product and engineering to make our customer's shopping experience better. This is a hands-on design role you'll spend most of your time in Figma, not in meetings.

What You'll Actually Do

Your core job is producing design work that ships. Here's what that looks like week to week:

  • Design UI for e-commerce experience. Product pages, category pages, checkout flows, promotional landing pages, and everything in between. You'll work from wireframes through polished, developer-ready screens.
  • Work within and contribute to the design system. We use a component-based system. You'll use existing components correctly, flag when something needs updating, and occasionally build new components following established patterns.
  • Create user flows and wireframes. Before jumping into high-fidelity design, you'll map out how users move through an experience and get alignment on the approach.
  • Build prototypes to communicate design intent. Clickable Figma prototypes that show how an interaction works enough to get useful feedback from stakeholders and hand off clearly to engineering.
  • Support design research efforts. Help prepare research materials, participate in usability testing sessions, and translate findings into design improvements. You won't be running research solo, but you'll be involved.
  • Collaborate with product managers and engineers. Participate in sprint rituals, ask clarifying questions, present your work, and respond to feedback.

You'll report to the Director of Product Design & Experience and work as part of a broader design organization (the PDX Center of Excellence) that serves Group Bayport's full portfolio of 12+ brands. You'll benefit from shared design standards, critique, and mentorship across the team.

This is a junior role with real mentorship built in. You'll have guidance on design direction and decision-making, regular feedback on your work, and support as you grow. You're not expected to set strategy or own decisions end-to-end you're expected to do strong design work, learn quickly, and improve.

Requirements

What We are Looking For

12 years of professional product design experience (internships count if the work was real).

Strong working fluency in Figma. Not familiar with you should be fast, organized, and comfortable building developer-ready screens and components.

A portfolio that demonstrates strong visual design skills: clean layouts, clear hierarchy, thoughtful use of typography and color, and attention to detail.

Ability to create user flows, wireframes, and simple interactive prototypes in Figma.

Comfort collaborating with product managers and engineers you can present your work, explain your rationale, and incorporate feedback without taking it personally.

Strong Preferences (Good to have)

  • Experience designing for e-commerce or direct-to-consumer products. If you've designed product pages, checkout flows, or conversion-oriented experiences, that's a meaningful head start.
  • Familiarity with design system concepts how components relate to each other, how patterns scale, and why consistency matters. You don't need to have built a design system, but understanding how to work within one thoughtfully is valuable.
  • Exposure to Atomic Design principles (atoms, molecules, organisms) or similar component-based thinking.
  • Basic understanding of how designs translate to front-end code. You don't need to write code, but knowing what's easy vs. hard to build helps you design better.

What This Role Isn't

To save your time if this isn't the right fit:

  • This is not a brand design or marketing design role. You won't be designing logos, social media assets, or brand campaigns.
  • This is not a senior or lead role. If you're looking for full ownership of design strategy, org influence, or people management, this isn't that.
  • This is not a remote role. The position is on-site in Gurgaon.
