Junior MERN Stack Developer

JOB Purpose

The Junior MERN Stack Developer is responsible for developing, testing, and maintaining web applications using the MERN stack (MongoDB, Express.js, React.js, Node.js). The role focuses on hands-on development, learning best practices, and contributing to high-quality, scalable solutions under the guidance of senior developers and leads.

Role And Responsibilities / KRAs

• Application Development
  
  

ü Develop and maintain web applications using MongoDB, Express.js, React.js, and Node.js.

ü Implement UI components based on designs and functional requirements.

ü Write clean, efficient, and reusable code following coding standards.

• Backend & API Development
  
  

ü Assist in developing RESTful APIs and backend services using Node.js and Express.js.

ü Work with databases (MongoDB) for data modeling, queries, and performance optimization.

ü Integrate third-party APIs and services as required.

• Testing & Debugging
  
  

ü Perform unit testing and basic integration testing.

ü Identify, debug, and fix application defects and performance issues.

ü Collaborate with QA teams to resolve issues and improve application quality.

• Collaboration & Agile Delivery
  
  

ü Work closely with senior developers, team leads, UI/UX designers, and QA teams.

ü Participate in sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives.

ü Ensure timely completion of assigned tasks within sprint timelines.

• Code Quality & Best Practices
  
  

ü Follow best practices related to version control (Git), coding standards, and documentation.

ü Participate in code reviews and implement feedback from senior team members.

ü Ensure adherence to security and performance guidelines.

• Organization initiatives
• Ensure participation in at least 2-3 organization initiatives becoming the front face of the function and adding value by making presence felt.
• Personal Development
• Ensure all personal development goals as agreed in discussion with the reporting manager are met before close of the assessment year.
• Further seek guidance and take initiative on becoming more visible participating in key discussion and supporting the India HR Leader help drive the HR vision in the Company.

Qualifications And Experience Requirements

• BE / B.Tech / MCA or equivalent qualification.
• 2–4 years of hands-on experience in web application development.
  
  

Knowledge/Skills/Attributes

• Strong knowledge of MongoDB, Express.js, React.js, and Node.js.
• Good understanding of JavaScript (ES6+), HTML5, and CSS3.
• Basic understanding of REST APIs and web application architecture.
• Familiarity with Git and Agile development practices.
• Strong willingness to learn, good communication skills, and a tea-oriented mindset.
• Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS / Azure) is an added advantage.
